PlayStation Home is PlayStation Home. It's an MMO of sorts. Now, let me just state that this review was typed April 30th, 2012, so by the time that you read this review, Home COULD have changed drastically. I doubt it, but it could.
Home is a Troll's Paradise, because people can dress up crazily and just swear people out with no one doing a thing about it. Sony doesn't have much control at all over what happens in there it's hilarious. I would recommend you be of age before you play this game. Anyways, there are a bunch of flaws to PS Home. Graphics and Sound are okay, but the flaws to this game are the reason this game is rated a six.
The first flaw is that you have to pay too much money for something that shouldn't be worth that much. I mean 3 dollars for a shirt or something that goes there? Are you SERIOUS, Sony? That much? I can buy some DLC Chars or Stages for that price, and that is just for a shirt! Wow... Okay. Don't even get me started about all the overpriced rooms on PS Home either. If you have money, good for you, but for people that really don't get much money in general, like me, it's bad. At least there's some decent free stuff out there.
The second flaw is that most of the games are terrible. There are a few good games(Uncharted Treasure Hunter, Novus Prime, DDR in Konami Penthouse, Pirate Battle, Sodium) but... Taking pictures? REALLY? This is a game? How about that whole 'Risk' game that you have to pay to play more then once a week.... How about the obvious Chess game? How about a little 'quest' game where you have to kill monsters, but the only way you can do any damage is to use real money to buy better items? Yeah... not the best thing, Sony.
The third flaw... is that there just isn't that much to do. I mean, there's a bunch of rooms, but how many of them give you more then a day's worth of fun? I mean, even if you pay, how many rooms give you the fun that you want to have? Plus, Sony shuts down a lot of their old rooms, so even if you found something you liked... Chances are, it won't be there long.
There is a movie theater, but a lot of the shows they play on the regular ones are crap, like The Tester or that Platnium'd show, but the LOOT Space Theater is a great place to go to, since it plays decent movies, and shows some good anime/cartoons. Is it enough, though to overcome the shortcomings of this? No, it isn't. I do hope Sony starts to improve the thing in general, because I know of a few better MMOs right now, including Free Realms, which they make also. GASP. Anyways, that's my two cents, it's 'free', so give it a look, and if you don't like it, just never sign in again until they fix it. PlayStation Home is PlayStation Home. It's an MMO of sorts.
