Camera: Yes, PSP doesn't have this and will probably never add it. So yes DSi wins here on walkover.

MP3 player: PSP has done this since the first edition. Hell, PSP supports ATRAC, AAC, MP3, and WMA, whilst DSi only supports AAC.

Opera browser: PSP, first edition.

You forgot a very important factor when it comes to handhelds. Durability. Due to DS's clam shell thing it is much more durable and can be simply put into your pocket or something. With PSP you almost have to have a case if you plan to take it anywhere and need to store it.

To me the DS just seems more "portable" than the PSP.

Beyond that though, they are pretty similar in terms of multimedia now.

Yeah, a PSP without a case is like asking for trouble, but when it comes to multimedia it does like I said, pretty much everything the DSi does, and is godly for pirating.

It's funny, though; in America, GameStops are struggling to get RID of PSPs, while DS and DS products are selling so much that they can barely order them fast enough.

And DM, in marketing, it IS a popularity contest. When a company sells 40,000,000 more portable units than yours, you have to think, "What is my PSP not doing that the DS/DSi is?"

Plus, you have to pay an ton of money for "Memory sticks" for PSP but DS just has games. I'm sorry, but I don't need a portable gaming system to wipe my ass and start my car from 50 miles away. Some of PSP's features are retardedly useless.

I mean, I like PSP for their media part (MP3s, movies, etc.) but they haven't released a solid PSP game in like, 2 years; at least, they haven't released a game on their portable that made any significant positive impact on their sales, anyway.

You know why DS sells so much? Because when you buy it, it comes with the things you need. None of this "Oh, you have to buy separate things to get the most out of your portable" crap. Plus, electronics fall to the ground in accidents, and PSP is like a glass brick with a USB port, if you drop it, that thing is DONE. My DS unfortunately fell down a flight of stairs and nothing happened to it.

Plus, their memory sticks occasionally like to get "corrupted" which requires you to reset your entire card and do everything all over again.... nice...

I'm not being biased; Nintendo's DS had some flaws, like lack of good 3rd party games, but then it got good third party games and now it's leaving PSP in the dust. The only reason I'd buy a PSP is to get the two Untold Legend games.

The bundle with an memory stick costs just slightly above the DSi starting price. And what features are so useless?

I have never gotten this corrupted problem or have ever heard of it, besides there's a lot of different card makers so just choose a good one.


And on the third party games, I can only name one DS third party (non port) that I found worth getting and that's TWEWY.

Actually the PSP has been doing much better about games than it was. Also you can buy a 4GB stick (might be 2 can't recall) for $25. And most PSP's come with at least a 1 gig stick now. I'm going to get a PSP memory stick and a battery thing so I can put homebrew on it. DS's homebrew scene is pretty good as well.

However I do not like portable games being discs, but with the protective case around them it's not that bad.

I simply want the DSi for the bigger screens it has.

I'm going to ignore this thread because if I reply a few more times I wouldn't be able to contain myself, I'd probably flame *someone* in this thread, because if you haven't heard of a thing called "income" or "profit", then you don't know anything about either of these companies.

Saying "These two companies aren't having a sales contest" was definitely the least intelligent comment I've heard you say. That's like saying Nostredamus didn't predict the future, and he spent the rest of his days working at a McDonald's. OF COURSE IT IS A SALES CONTEST, both companies want to out-SELL one another. And, when you put OPINIONS aside, Nintendo is selling more than Sony is as far as consoles AND hand held portables, and Microsoft is the only company that is coming close to catching up with Nintendo. There have definitely been a lot of third party games for DS. A large portion of DS games are games NOT made by Nintendo (that's the definition of third party).

I'm not necessarily a big Nintendo fan, I like PS2 more than I like GameCube, but Jesus Christ, man, when you look at numerical (and unbiased) statistics that show Nintendo is selling way more than Sony and Microsoft and you say "But Sony's better, lawls!" it's kind of ridiculous when you see FACTS and not opinions and still dismiss them and say "*insert company here* is still doing way better than them!".

You know what? I need to walk away from this topic right now before I start saying things I'll regret.

But before I leave, here's proof Nintendo is doing better than Sony, just so you don't think I'm lying.

Stop misunderstanding me, I know that DS sells loads more, but WE aren't comparing sales, We are just comparing the systems capabilities at the moment.

I dont go for sales, i dont even look how many great game titles they get, if it is there to be played, im gona play that sucker. enough said.

My guess is that they are going for casual, by removing the GBA slot they can make it less pricy. And most people doesn't know it can play GBA anyways (Ordinary DS that is).

Besides, what's the point of playing GBA on DS when there are no more new GBA games coming out anymore? There just seems to be no point.

Some people didn't own an GBA, the DS was good for them if they wanted some GBA games too.

Some sold their GBA buying an DS, if they wanted to upgrade to DSi then they couldn't play those games anymore.

That's almost like saying console backwards compability has no point to it.

Dude, are you kidding? There IS no point in GBA anymore if there aren't going to be any more new games for it, plus, most game stores around here are getting rid of GBA games.

OK, you're making it really hard for anyone's opinions to get across. Stop it, please. You edited my post just so you could further progress your own opinion?

Here's an idea: KEEP YOUR OLD DS IF YOU WANT GBA GAMES ON IT. Is that clear enough? It's better use of space to have a DSWare store for applications than to have old games you could play on your computer as a ROM.

I'm just saying, that they shouldn't make it so that ordinary people have to get illegal to play their games, or stand off from new ones. (Or buy both DS and DSi but ehh)

Or you could just buy a cheap GBA and have DSi... Not that pricey...

I honestly would prefer the old DS over this new one.

The DSi comes with memory and stuff like that but if you have a flash card, all the DSi features are pretty much useless except the camera (but a 0.3 megapixel camera is pretty crappy) ...and I guess bigger screens is pretty cool too. But I must admit that the ability to download DS games to it is pretty cool.

But I do prefer to have a GBA slot on my DS because the GBA has a huge library of games that are still awesome. Even though they aren't still making GBA games doesn't mean I've played every single GBA game so I have no problem picking up a GBA game that's been out for many years and enjoy it. You could bring up the argument that a GBA is cheap and that I could just buy a seperate GBA but who needs the extra clutter, I prefer having 1 thing that can do many things rather than having many things that can do 1 thing, it's all about quality over quantity and when it comes to portability, it's much easier to carry around 1 thing than many.

As for the PSP, I think it's pretty obvious which has the better selection of games but the PSP does have a few games that I REALLY want to play, which includes Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, Star Wars Battlefront and Splinter Cell...to name a few. But the problem with the PSP is battery life, and it's battery life makes it not so portable friendly. Sure the PSP has way better graphics but if I want graphics, I'll just play my XBox 360. If I want portability, I'll play the DS.
