Its a PC game about everyday life with expansions to make the game more interesting it has the original game a called "The Sims' A sequel called 'The Sims 2' and a Prequel called 'The Sims 3' you need to take care of a Sim or a family of Sims by making them eat,sleep,pee,etc. all PC games have expansions with features addded such as vactions or being famous It is my favriote game of all time 'What my user names says lol' you can make them succed or toture them (like Justin Bieber or You mean teacher lol) you can toture them by looking them in their room or puttting walls around the pool so they will get tired and drown I highly recommed this game for everyone if you havent herad of this game tell me what you think about it and if you do know tell me how much you like it and some funny or other stuff you have done in the game.

I dont see how 3 is a prequel, theres no story line.
Its not bad but the others like bustin out and urbz,sims in the city sucks.

It was a nice novelty when the first one came out, but I lost interest in the game very quickly.

The Sims 3 is kind of a prequel based on the 'timeline'. With the Goth family, in the first game you have the premade family of Mortimer, Bella, and their daughter Cassandra. In the Sims 2, Mortimer is an old man, Cassandra is an adult, and they have a second child, Alexander. Also Bella is missing. In the Sims 3, however, Mortimer and Bella are both children. Which makes it a prequel of sorts. Of course with the nature of the game you have to make the storyline yourself, so there's very little to go on plotwise, but it is still there. Since you can take control of little kid Mortimer and Bella's lives though in Sims 3, it may be more of an Alternate Reality than a prequel.

The only "plot" in the Sims is how certain families are kept throughout the games, like the Goth's. It's a sandbox game, a very good sandbox game, and definitely worth your money (the expansion packs... maybe).

They're addicting because you can never run out of ideas. Don't want to play a family normally? Why not start a Medieval kingdom, a 10 generation family whose life is run by dice, or build new buildings? It's basically the largest sandbox game ever made, with a very high chance of addiction!

2 was the best i feel, 3 had no real objectives at all, looked cartoony, and worst of all, they deliberately made it hard to mod.
2 was amasing due to user content.
Although in 3, i had a pistol and sniper.
When the repo man came i shot him.
The goths mansion was ideal for the sniper too, i wiped out half the town by scoping the park from the top floor =p
Id like 4 to be more realistic graphically, less restrictive mod wise, more optional game objectives etc.
Itd be good if the ai actualy modified things like houses, decor and buisineses too, make it more like a real town
