This is the most stupidest thing ever.  They are trying to make the 3DS look like an actual controller.  What I think is that if they are going to make an attachment for this, then there would be no point of having the touch screen at the bottom.  Also, it is weird looking and it does not make the screen centered anymore.  They do not think this through.  Here is a link about it:

Although I do not even own a 3DS, I still have input. There was a rumor that the attachment could help the 3DS's battery issue, but since this article says the "Slidepad" will require a AAA battery then it is already not looking good for sales. Since there is a list of games that this attachment will be compatible with, it raises one question. Will the Slidepad be a recommendation or a requirement to play these specific games? In previous games like Monster Hunter Tri, certain controller styles were promoted but not required to enjoy the game. If this is the case with the Slidepad then I would believe it is necessary to make a few copies of games a bundle with it.

Another issue I didn't think about was the fact that it looks like the 3DS will be off-center when holding it with the attachment. I would think that Nintendo had tested to see whether the 3D effects are as clear as they are without it. If not, then the purpose of having 3D effects is lost. I guess we will see what happens when it goes on sale in Japan in just four days.

I did not see that the thing was coming out so soon in Japan. The overall look of it looks cheap though I like the idea of a second nub. I would like that for many of the games that are set to come out. I do think that honestly Nintendo should drop the DS line of consoles. Espectially if so much is just one 1 screen.

I think at this point they should just rerelease the system altogether because of all the hardware errors and problems this current one has. This circle pad looks very strange and awkward, and we shouldn't have to pay 20 bucks more for something that it should have come with anyways.

Marcmoney : That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. This is why I'm not a Nintendo (Modern) fan anymore. They're ruining themselves. You know that? It's sad. Nintendo was great back in the day.

Am I the only one who thinks this is an awesome idea? The 3DS should have come with dual analog to begin with and I'm really hoping this attachment inspires the possibility of future 3DS models coming with dual analog by default (the playstation vita was smart to have included 2 analogs).

We're at a point where FPS games need to have 2 analogs to play (and many other games as well). The thing may look ugly but I'm willing to bet it'll make playing certain games more comfortable. To be honest, I'd be more willing to get a 3DS because of this attachment (but I do plan to wait to see what the next 3DS model looks like).

I can't wait for this attachment to come out. If I didn't allready own a 3DS I would wait for a new model, not just for the second stick but also in hopes that they make the next one more comfortable. I am constantly having to adjust the way I grip it , seems too small for my hands.
From what I understand this will be required for some games.

Well, I assume that it is out because Nintendo says that it is compatible with Resident Evil Revelations.  It just looks weird because the screen would not be in the middle, but whatever.

It does make things like Super Smash Brothers more possible. However, it looks odd and I don't want it making my 3DS battery life even worse...

This product has been released.  There is no reason in hoping to come out cause it already did.
