Like the title says I feel kind a dumb for asking this but uhh..how do your turn of your psp? Cause I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong since every time I turn it back on it seems to have been in the spot were I last left off...so I'm pretty sure I am doing something wrong and am putting it in sleep mode all the time

I don't have a PSP so this might not be the right answer... But I think if you want to turn it off off, then you just have to hold the switch up for a few seconds longer.

I don't think sleep mode wastes any battery, though. So don't think you're wasting energy this way.

Someone70 : yea I usually hold it for a few seconds but yet it still does it I'm confused as hell since I didn't buy it new it didn't come with a manual. And I'm pretty sure sleep mode must waste some energy since I lost my psp for awhile and when I tried to turn it on it was dead so of course I had to hunt down the adapter.........my room still looks like a twister went through it lol

Instead of just flicking the switch up, pull up the switch and hold it there until the screen goes black, then let go. This will turn it completely off.

It's pretty weird that you have to slide power switch up for so long before you know for sure it's off. I guess Sony really wants to make sure you don't turn it off by accident...which is impossible.

If you truly want to save power/ elongate your battery's lifespan, then you must remove the battery after every use.

Just by being in the socket, it's battery drains. Also, do not charge while playing. You should only use the battery for portability, and at home, or where ever you mostly play it, plug it into the charger without the battery in.

here's a quote I found online:
"On the Fat PSP it only takes me like 2 seconds of holding up the switch for the complete shutoff, but I have had instances where I try to switch it off "hold" and accidentally put it to sleep, so I guess Sony changed this in the newer models"
apparently Sony changed it on 3000 models but not 2000. u should specify which u have.
