Overall - 9.5
I made a review about Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and how good it was. This is just like it, but it is Mario games. I really like it when they make games that have more than one games in it (except for Action 52, that was horrible). I like playing this game cause you can play Super Mario Bros 1, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario Bros Lost Levels. I understand the first three, but the lost levels seemed to be different than the others because I do not think that it was ever released in the United States. It is fun, but there are some things in there that is just different than Super Mario Bros. This game has FOUR Mario games and they are very fun and classic.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are AMAZING. They were like remade and look a whole lot better than what you would play on the NES. I mean the graphics are twice as better. The effects are pretty much the same looks as the NES games.
Sound - 10
I am not sure if the sounding is even better, but I assume that it is basically the same. The sound effects are usually the same. It brings back that Mario jumping and music from the past.
Addictiveness - 8
Like I said, the game is awesome because it has four games in one cartridge. I would play this a lot of times. I mean the graphics are a lot better and the games never gets old.
Story - 8
I assume that there is no story in any of the games, but you pretty much know the plot of it. Princess Peach is kidnapped by Bowser and Mario has to go save her. On the second one, it is kind of different because you get to use Princess Peach. I think the story in Super Mario Bros 2 is that Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach are to go and save something from an evil frog-looking creature called Wart. I have never knew that they would replace Bowser with a frog named Wart, but they did.
Depth - 10
This game has a lot to offer. Like I said for the billionth time, it has four games in it. Another thing is that you can save where you left off in any of the four games, so that you do not have to start all over again (that is really helpful). Also, the graphics are good (for the billionth time lol). The game play is the same, but it still is a lot of fun.
Difficulty - 5
The games are not that hard. I have played them and I seem to get far into the game, especially Super Mario Bros 3 cause I have beaten that millions of times. I have beaten Super Mario Bros 2 a few times, but not the first Super Mario Bros, that one is hard. The lost levels is the same as Super Mario Bros, but a little different and that one is also the one I could not beat. The only game that is hard out of the four is Super Mario Bros Lost Levels because it is completely different. You can choose to be either Mario or Luigi. The reason why is because they do different things like Luigi can jump higher than Mario, but is not stabled enough than Mario. I usually pick Luigi because he is easier to use because I like to jump a lot. Another thing in this game is that there is this Poison Mushroom and if you take it, you die. That is clever to put in the game, but at least make it purple or something so that people would know that it is a Poison Mushroom. It is not exactly like the original mushroom, but it just looks a little different and you can tell a little by the difference. Another thing in the game is that there is this item where you can jump on like a trampoline. If you are Luigi and you jump on the trampoline thing, you will fly into the air, where you will not see where you are. You will be in the air for about 5 to 10 seconds and then come back down. I am not sure if it does the same thing as Mario, but I think that they made a mistake about doing that.
Wrap Things Up...
Super Mario All-Stars is an awesome thing to play when you want to play one game after the other. I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already. I guarantee that you will love it, especially with the graphics and to all you Mario fans. Overall - 9.5
