This review is by the great, the amazing, epicpokenerd! This is one of the first games I have ever played. It is incredibly fun, although I have not played it on vizzed yet, only on the wii, so I don't know how confusing it is on here. I do however know that it is extremely addicting. It was released on November 21st, 1998, for the N64, and later made for the gamecube and the Nintendo 3DS. It is easily the most popular legend of Zelda game of all time, possibly even the most popular N64 game of all time. I don't know a single person who, if they don't already have it,doesn't wish that they did. It is also the highest rated and most appraised Zelda game of all time. And now for the ratings:
Graphics I rate the graphics 10/10. Why? The games graphics are incredible, considering how it was made in 1998. It is seriously a game that I would expect to have been made sometime in the 21st century. What really blew me away was that it was the first 3D game ever made, and it was rare to see them even years later. The coloration for the game was perfect, so that outside in the overworld, it was nice and bright during the day to give it a nice, happy feeling, and inside the dungeons, it was dark and eerie, just enough to put you on edge. The game is great, and as you progress you will continue to be blown away and shocked.
Sound A definite 10/10. The games sound and music is great, and a HUGE part of the game. They did great on it, and for those of you deaf gamers out there, like snowdeath, I am sorry you have to miss out on this. It has possibly the greatest sound and music of all N64 games, and I give them much credit on the echo job that they did.
Addictiveness Again, definitely a 10/10. I will play this game over and over again, even if I had already done it 10 times. There is so much stuff to get, so much to do, and so many secret areas and powers that will help you on your journey. There is even a secret sword you unlock, but only after completing a long and grueling quest. I haven't beaten it yet, but I intend to get everything there is. It is the greatest game of all time, in my opinion.
Story A total win. 10/10. The story is extremely intricate, and it overwhelms and intoxicates you with twists and turns, massive plot lines that aren't even a part of the base story, all the while learning more and more secrets about links past. It intertwines reality with the gaming industry and makes you feel as though you are living the game, not playing it. the people who thought this up must have taken such a long time, and must have been geniuses. A lot of people play this game just to find the story behind the story. When you play it, I highly recommend listening to everything everyone says, other wise you will miss out on some important information.
Depth 10/10. As I have already said, this game is very, long, and has tons of stuff to do and to unlock in it. There are literally dozens of pieces of heart to collect in the game, and it takes forever collecting them all. There are tons of minigames in it, and tons of back stories behind some of the enemies. But, if you want to find out what they are, I highly recommend searching every house, and fighting every bad guy there is.
Difficulty I would have to say a 9/10, but for good reason. Although the game is incredibly complex at times, it can also be very simple. For instance, at ganons castle, it is very hard to beat, and very complex. However, in a few cases, such as inside the great deku tree, it is very simple and easy. But then again, that is a very rare case.
Overall I would have to rate this game as a 10/10! It is definitely one of my favorite games ever, and it made me show a wide range of emotions. It made me laugh out of its pure funniness, it made me shout as a giant spider landed right on top of me. It made me yell as it frustrated me with its intense and difficult dungeons, and it again made me laugh at how simple the confusing puzzles were. This game is very special to me, as it was the first N64 game I have ever played. Anyone who has never played, I encourage, no, I DEMAND that you play it now!
