This is a review of one of my favorite games on the Xbox 360, but also my 3rd favorite E rated game of all time. (1st being Ocarina of Time and 2nd being Mario Kart 64, respectively being because I'm mainly a Nintendian.)

Opening

I vastly remember my mom dropping me off at my grandmothers house to go to a KISS concert and allowing me to take my Xbox 360 with me. She said that I'd be able to get ONE game from the pawn shop, and there were many choices, from Grand Theft Auto, to Bully, but one stood out, one in a TIN case, and with a embossed horse on the front. It was very intriguing, I knew nothing at all about Viva Pinata, besides watching numerous episodes of the TV series, which was pretty funny. Back then I wasn't part of Vizzed, and I had no laptop, so I had nothing to do but play my Xbox and Wii. So, my mom got in the car, drove away, and I had a new game in my hands. I opened it, and saw many manuals and a very decorated disc, that seemed like it invited me to a fiesta.

I put the disc in my Xbox, selected the game, and started playing.

Gameplay

As I started playing I recognized that it was a simulation game, like FarmVille, or Lemonade Tycoon, but kinda mixed in with Donkey Kong 64 and Fallout Tactics. Kinda messed up, but still interesting and nice.

I noticed that the game wasn't lacking any sort of polish whatsoever, and it had a real look to it, not like Legos.


I made my garden, and got through the tutorials very quickly, and they were as informative as they were quick. The controls were really easy to get a hold of, as it was reminiscent of a point and click game like "i Spy" for PC, except you ARE the cursor. I learned to play with ease, and my first pinata, a Whirlm, although it was not my choice, they were still awesome little creatures that just had a radiating awesomeness to them.

So, I shoveled, I planted, I gardened, and I grew many plants, as there is a large variation of seeds. They are fun to plant and learn to grow, and they're good for making money in the market.

The game has a good variety of shops, a market, a pet shop, a hunter shop, a house shop, a worker shop, and a mystery shop, which sells some very odd and possibly useful items.


This is great, I thought, I've continually looked for a game like this.

This is a good helping tool: Push down on the left analog, and you can speed up your cursor, which comes very handy.

The gameplay was overall great, with a simple cursor controlling the user with 2 speeds, planting, raising pinatas, and the markets, it's just really convenient and fun to play, the graphics and looks are astounding and beautiful, and the animals are just extremely cutesy.

That's really all I have to say about this game, it's a must play for somebody who likes a challenge, or just a child.
