Just making a thread to get some recommendations on some supplements. Post what you currently use and make some suggestions. I currently use Whey Protein Isolate, and recently purchased and am about to begin supplementing L-Arginine and Omega-3 Fish Oil.

That stuff is expensive and it helps if you don't like eating regular protein. Just load up on fish, chicken, pork, and turkey. Try to avoid red meat. You'll put on weight like no other if you do that.

Don't eat crap food, that always helps. You don't need expensive supplements.

I have been a body builder for years. I would buy the omega-3 fish oil pills cause thats really good stuff, also buy a regular multi-vitamin, and if you like some flax-seed pills (or any other type of fiber). Other than that muscle supplements can actually do more harm than good as they place an enormous burden on your kidneys (protein) and blood vessels(potassium and sodium) and yes I have used the supplements you are talking about in the past. Be very careful with supposedly muscle building supplements, they may overdose your kidneys with protein (yes, they have enough protein to do that) and many have high sodium content. Basically they advertise that they give the body everything it needs-which is true. However, they "flood" the body with more than it needs which damages certain organs in the long run.

I don't think supplements are as essential as a proper intake of protein, carbs, and fat. I've been using whey protein for years, so I've found that, obviously, if you're budgeting the purchase, you'll want to find one that has the most protein per serving for the cheapest cost. The only supplement I use in addition to diet is creatine.
