Pretty self explanatory. Which anime death was the saddest. For me (spoilers) it's a three-way tie between Itachi from Naruto, and Nuriko and Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi. I cried like a baby when all three of them died. *cries*

The saddest anime death for me was in Sailor Moon....

Zoycite and a few of her minions killed their fellow warrior Nephlite for falling in love with an Earthling, (Molly). They stabbed him through the heart......I was in tears. The sad music makes it much worse.

Watch this whole thing, it's so sad.

I watched Kekkaishi Episode 37 last night. I'm watching dubs, so don't ruin anything for me.

During Episode 37, Gen Shishio died. It was the most epic battle and right before he killed the bad guy, another bad guy slashed him from behind with two swords at once. I'm still sad about it. I'm considering not watching the rest of the show because it won't look right without him running beside them in battle. At the same time I want to see how they'll avenge him.

This is the subbed version of the battle because I couldn't find the dubbed version:

Damn, this thread should really have a spoiler alert attached to it. I saw JZ's post and cringed- I've never seen Death Note and am watching it right now. Now I know what happens. That sucks.

Cyro Xero : Well I would have put a spoiler alert on it, but I think the name of the thread itself is a spoiler alert.

XxChaosxX : True. I just never thought I would know the ending to something I haven't already seen all of yet. Death Note is something that's pretty popular, too. So it kinda blows the fun away for me. ¬_¬

(SPOILER ALERT)
The saddest anime death to me was the story of how Otonashi died in his real life in Angel Beats! Such a moving story of how he lived his life for his disabled sister and then lived to help others, but it was unfortunate that he was the only one that died in the collapsed tunnel from the train accident. Angel Beats! is one of the most emotional animes I've ever watched.

SPOILER. One of the saddest was when Lelouch from Code Geass died. He sacrificed his own life and made the world turn against him in order for his sister to live in a more peaceful world.

Clannad After Story has two of the most tear-jerking deaths that I have ever seen (Nagisa and Ushio)... they even made my fiance cry and that never happens.

Grave of the Fireflies was a REALLY sad anime! It's based off a true story during WW2 in Japan. Their mom dies, their dad dies, then the little sister dies, and then finally the main character! Its soooooo sad!

I thought that when Spike from Cowboy Bebop died...was a bummer. I'm sure there are worse deaths, but I can't think of any right now. I'll get back to you on that.

Spoilers or not, I had two.

1. Lelouch Lamperouge- Code Geass

Not much can be said about this since you have to watch the anime to understand it. We grow to love and hate Lelouch, because like all humans, he is doing what he sees as right. He gets mixed up in terrorism, and all kinds of bad business, but he does it to help a person he loves and cares for, and later, for the people of the world (while he won't admit it) because he has grown to care for them as the leader of a resisitence movement. His death is the single greatest sacrifice anyone can make... although... he might not be "dead" if you watch the final scene closely enough

2. L - Death Note

I love L. He's intelligent, paranoid, odd, and just entertaining. I can't remember one scene where I wish he would shut up or just go away. He was truly the most mysterious character I have grown to like. His death was a foregone conclusion for me. Although I saw it as him dying at the end and Kira winning. Not the way things played out now was it?

Yeah, my number 1 would be Spike from Cowboy Bebop as well. I think they didn't give him a wake because not many people that he knew where still alive (or cared enough). He died like a boss.
