Okay, so this all started for me when Gamecrazy closed down in a city away from me. I was a regular there, and could mingle with the people there with ease. I witnessed my first release day pre-order pick-up at a gaming store at that store when Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out. I was so happy that day. I bought two Lost in Blue games at this store. I bought a Gamecube controller, Animal Crossing for Gamecube, and even a memory card for a bargain there. I have so many good memories of the place.

I blew all my money on about five games. All but one was used. It was an amazing day for me. It was like the day I bought my very first good quality skateboard. I felt so happy, and just was overjoyed. That store has been in my life for so many years. I have bought so many amazing titles there. I have gotten Rogue Galaxy, Shadow of the Colossus, and even Jak 2 and 3. I had a broken game one time that I bought there, and the guys at the store fixed the game. It was Spider-Man 2 for the PS2. They tested it, and it worked beautifully.

I will miss that place. The people were great, and so nice. The guys who frequented it were a bit geeky, yeah, but I'm a geek, and proud of it. I would always ask my mom and dad if we'd go there just to look around. The day I heard it was to close, I was heartbroken. That place was important to me. It was like a place where I actually could socialize, and communicate. I have problems with that kind of stuff due to having Asberger's. That place was so uplifting for me.

Luckily, I've got a new place to be a nice little girl at. It's a local gaming shop. I even plan to work there when I'm able to drive for a bit. The minute I opened the door to the place, and walked in to buy my first M rated games in my life, which was such a huge deal to me, I felt the same magic come over me. Actually, I felt like I was in a new place that my imagination made just for me, but it was a dream I never knew existed. The store sells games for old consoles, and new consoles. It has a great staff, and the place, while a bit cramped, is just like a hunting ground for me.

The two games I bought there were Silent Hill 2 and Shadow Hearts. Both great ones, and both ones I highly recommend.

So, anyone else got any stories on gaming stores? I'd love to hear them.

Game Crazy was partnered with Hollywood Video, and when Hollywood capsized, Game Crazy went down with it.

I remember when I was younger, I didn't have much money. I wasn't able to buy big budget games, so I always had to wait till my Bday or Christmas to get some games. So one day, I decided to try Game Stop (also known in some areas as EB Games). This Game Stop was located in a smaller city, so it was never crowded (like some of the mall ones). I was able to go one on one with some of the workers, and they told me everything. I eventually went for a GBA game that was like, $5.00. Wasn't the best game ever, but the point was that I could actually afford it. Some of those people I knew so long ago I still know today, as they still work there.

Yeah, I've got Asperger's too, and have made a lot of strides recently talking with others. Although, I still have trouble talking face-to-face for extended periods of time. I have to agree that there are very few stores that really care a lot about the gamer these days. I use GameStop, but their trade-in prices are low. I have gotten several GBA games there for cheap, though.

Mine is walking in to toys r us as a kid and looking at the n64 piled to the celing I wanted one every time we walked in I asked for one. I never got one, then I remeber later the gamecube doing the same thing. I never wanted one and never got it. Now the wii is stacked to the celing at the place and I got one first day it was all mine. I still wish I got that N64 though my friend still has one and he never plays it but I am jelous of the game library that he has for the thing it is just amazing.
