I don't think peace in the Middle East will ever happen because although the region has achieved technological advances their unwillingness to adapt to an ever changing world will always create friction with those without so many rigorous social, political, and religious protocols

my vote is no. I don't think there has ever been a long standing peace in the middle east. Track the history of the place and it's constantly having wars of some sort in the area. Maybe if there were no more people living there then there would be a chance at peace

If all of the terrorists, the people supporting them, and all the corrupt leaders are swiftly crushed all at the same time, without alienating all of the other middle-easterners in the process, peace may be possible. I don't find this scenario likely to happen, and even then, it may still flare up again.

The reason why there's unrest in the Middle East is because certain parties that happen to have a lot of power and cause over there are involved in a holy war, which is kind of hard to put a stop to. It's unfortunate, but I think it'll be a long time before we manage a peaceful solution to the issues that people face out there.

No way will there ever be peace. It seems like even though the wars that went on during the crusades are over, there is just more and more tension. Unfortunately I think its like JigSaw said, There won't be any peace there unless the place is annihilated and all are dead. Sadly.

Sure people can fight and be civilized to an extent at the same time but there is ALWAYS those people who will take out guns and kill the others over an arguement.

It's most peaceful when you are alone and somewhere where there are no humans that is what I call peace

I think it's possible, but I think this war is pretty much senseless. It seems to just aggravate the terrorists to more violence and probably will never fully achieve its goals. Sure there were some milestones, such as the capture of Saddam, but we never have found WMDs and are now just continuing this war to eliminate the "terrorist threat" and establish a government in those countries we're fighting in. I feel that the effect of the Taliban will never fully go away. They seem completely devoted to their cause, right or wrong, which means that fighting them will influence more to join. It will be a cycle that goes on and on, in my opinion, unless we do something about it.
