I remember it was the year Contra came out. Me and a friend were jamming it. Its one of the few games that still holds a magic to this day. Anyhow...we get to the second stage end boss. Big purple worm thing shooting smoke rings. I remember the music was so bad ass that we let it live for a bit longer just to listen. The music on Contra was just as immersive as the gameplay! Anyone else have this experience with a game...the music is just so cool you dont want the stage to end? What game / lvl was it that had the best music. One rule. Nothing older than super NES. After that era the playstation and dreamcast era people were hiring real bands and sound studios. Im talkin strictly bleeps and bloops style jingles of harmonious joy!

Yeah dude I know what ur talking about. It was like that for all the Castlevania games on NES and SNES where I'd just listen to the music for some time while playing.

I loved the music for the first Final Fantasy. I could just sit there listen to it all day.
