2024 was definitely the least active I've ever been on the site, and I apologize for that. Life and work outside of the site got busy, and I struggled with my ambition and focus on the site and with my job as a Software Engineer. I think a lot of it stems from my inability to sleep well getting worst over the past year, possibly related to my stressful job. I really wanted to put together a tribute video for the 20 year anniversary but a combination of not having time and not wanting to be on the computer after being on the computer all day at work really destroyed that project.

A big thing that did take place for the site in 2024 was the server migration which resulted into the site being significantly faster and no longer having various issues that it was having over the past year. The server migration was actually pretty time consuming and technically isn't done (I took a long break from it).

It's crazy that I still think of myself as one of the "newer" members - but I've been here for over half of Vizzed's life.

I'm forever greatly for this site and the user's here, and unfortunately I just missed out on voting. A lot of well deserving users got the right awards this year, and thanks for the best userpic vote haha!

I am feeling nostalgic, so I think I'll look through the old ones and see the glory days of getting Most Active and Meanest in the same year. Those were certainly days I'll always remember

Congrats to all the winners. And to David, this website still existing and having some active users after 20 years is certainly something to be proud of. The percentage of websites from the early 2000s that are still alive is very small. I'm glad that this is part of that small percentage.

The backstory for my username is very uninteresting. The first time I needed to make a username for something was Xbox Live, and I settled on tgags123. (Well actually Webkinz was first, but my mom set that up for me; I didn't get to choose my username.) The "t" is for my first name (Tommy), the "gags" is for my last name (Gagliano) and is the nickname my 5th grade teacher called me by, and the "123" is because someone already had the gamertag "tgags" on Xbox Live. I've used tgags123 (or some variation of it) for most of my accounts since then.

A first and 2 second place finishes. Kind of surprised by that. I knew if I posted in that voting thread that I would get some votes but didn't expect to win anything.

And honestly, I don't expect I'll ever stop visiting this site as long as it exists. It's dominated nearly half of my life now. This version started right after I got married so I've been married for basically as long as the site has existed. Crazy to think about.


As for my name: it isn't that great of a story honestly. I misspelled the name George one time in a story when I was in elementary and so I got geogre. I added the extra e's to make it easier to say and ended up with geeogree. It's stuck ever since.

How did I go from meanest back in 2014 to craziest this year? Last year I was considered most active with the most posts last year, nicest the year before, and now this? Can you guys make up your mind? Becky is Becky and nothing else, not every category known to man in this award thread. I try to stay consistent at least

In all seriousness, I’m probably one of the few who will stick around the site even if not posting or playing in the RGR or anything. Just get on, look what’s up, and just go one with my day. Funny how all these years I never been staff or mod, I don’t have the time to anyways and there’s others way more qualified than me. If anything I’m probably the most social member here I guess, or most wordy with all the messages in the chat bars, but hey, find some way to engage with the site, even if it means messaging like it’s a split personality thing or whatever. In the end hopefully the site stays strong with this small tight knit community and welcome more users as time goes on. I’m feeling so old with the silver hair growing on my head

How do I keep getting most creative? Maybe I am creative, I mean, two times in a row.

Surprising that I get such an honor during a heavily inactive year. Looks like people value my actions a ton, which means a lot to me, or I just prefer to concentrate all my mistakes in real life to just do the correct things here

I absolutely feel you here, David. I also spend all day at the computer when working, and when I have some free time I want to be elsewhere. It gets worse because I'm also studying online, but I'm dealing with it the best way I can. It has obviously affected my ability to be here or do anything, and my routine is far from stable right now so... yeah.

As for my userpic, I think I've been using it since 2016 or so. Another member who is sadly not around anymore (Eniitan, gone but not forgotten) made it for me and "the troupe" of guide writers back then and we all had the pics she drew for us. That's basically the reason why I don't change it, I can't come up with anything more meaningful than that.

I wasn't really expecting to get Member of the Year to be honest. Wasn't as active as last year, but that was mostly because i started working a full time job at the beginning of the year. (Still waiting for game adding to be back up and working).

I still managed to put some time into the site especially since i became admin in july. Thank you to everyone that voted for me for some awards, and congrats to everyone else who won awards.

Barathemos: I definitely don't view you as a newer member. You're definitely one of the users who have helped build this place.

I'm always impressed when someone can use the same username for most websites and for that long. Some people might outgrow their own username and therefore change it, which I understand, but when you've come up with one that is good and is timeless, that's a username worth keeping long term.

It is crazy that you and I can both say that we've been members of this site for about half our lives. For me it's over half my life.

I think I vaguely remember you telling the origin of your name so many years ago. It's nice to hear a refresher on it, because I recently was trying to remember how you came up with it but couldn't remember. I think most stories of how a username is conceived is interesting, especially when it's accidental because that just adds humor to it.


becerra95 : Being in the habit of checking up on the site and logging into it often is incredibly beneficial to the site and is very appreciated by me. When I ever do get around to making updates or adding new features, it's nice to know that many will see it.
