Overdrive Ostrich is a reploid, robots/cyborgs who have human characteristics such as DNA, feelings, logical thinking and can make their own decisions, who is based off an Ostrich. He later became a maverick, reploids who pose a danger to the world, and Joined Sigma's army. Anyway lets learn about Overdrive Ostrich.

Not much is known who built Overdrive Ostrich. He later joined the Maverick Hunters due to his speed and high tech weapons he was placed in the 7th Airborne unit of the Maverick Hunters. His speed allowed him to have success and was promoted. However he was insecure because he could not fly unlike some of the other 7th Airborne members. Therefore, he was mostly used on the ground due to his speed and high jumping abilities. Due to his insecurities he resigned as a Maverick Hunter. But Sigma had noticed him and appreciated his high speed and high tech weapons.

When Sigma went Maverick he recruited Overdrive Ostrich to become a Maverick. Ostrich feeling appreciated and finally secure quickly joined Sigma's army. He soon went on a rampage. He took over the old Maverick Hunter Missile Base in the middle of the Desert. This was the Base that Storm Eagle Guarded and that Sigma launched several missiles at the world. The old Missile base had some missile left in it that had a high payload. Ostrich was threatening to launch a Missile at the world. Ostrich was not present in the first game as he was hiding waiting for orders. In Mega Man X2 Sigma finally orders him to launch the missile and guard the Maverick's desert base. The desert base was also used to store the maverick vehicles. Therefore Ostrich was not only guarding the remaining missiles but the mavericks vehicles as well.

X goes to the missile base and the missile starts to launch. Thankfully, X destroyed the missile before it could hit anything. Overdrive Ostrich confronted X which proved to be his downfall. X destroyed Ostrich and destroyed the remaining missiles in the process. He also freed the desert base from the Mavericks.

Appearance- Overdrive Ostrich as I stated is based off an Ostrich. He is a blue and orange maverick. He has no wings and cannot fly. He is also very tall. He has orange talons and sharp blades on his shoulders.

Personality- Ostrich is a proud warrior and is full of pride. He is very proud of his high speed. On the other hand, he is very insecure because he cannot fly. This caused him insecurities in the air force because the other members could fly in some capacity. Sigma manipulated his insecurities into turning bad. Moreover, he seems to enjoy taunting his opponents as he makes bird sounds when confronted in battle. He also thinks nobody can defeat him due to his speed which leads to his downfall. He also seems to not care what happens as he launched a powerful explosive missile with no remorse. This could because he is a maverick though.

Overdrive Ostrich having access to a missile has lead to a lot of theories. The most likely scenario is that being in the Airforce he could have had access to the missile field and worked under Storm Eagle. In this case he would have had access to the missiles. It is possible that Sigma told him not to let a few launch for later. That could explain why he had a few missiles in his base. Another theory is him being technical advanced he stole a few under the order of Sigma.

Abilities- Ostrich has superior speed and is very fast. He is also knowledge in weapons and technology. He can fire sonic slicers. The Slicers are very sharp weapons that can cut through steal. Although he cannot fly he can jump really high.

Attacks- Ostrich main attack is his Sonic Slicer weapon. He will send several slicers out. He can also fire several when fully charged. He can also run into the player sending them flying across the room. He can also do a super kick with his speed. Ostrich will then kick the player instead of running over them sending them flying. He can also run in the background and then jump on the player causing more damage.

Weakness- He is week to the Crystal Hunter Weapon. The Crystal Hunter temporarily freezes him. However, he will be quickly break out the player needs to be quick to hit him again. One reason he could be weak to the Crystal Weapon is it works like Ice. Ostriches are found in tropical climates and do not like extreme cold temperatures. That would explain why the Crystal Hunter Weapon freezes him.

If the player defeats him they will gain the Sonic Slicer weapon. The player will be able to fire slicers that can not only cut but bounce of walls to do extra damage.

Ostrich is a very fast Maverick that despite not being able to fly is a tough opponent without his weakness due to his multiple attacks. Unlike some of the other mavericks he was not really infected with the Sigma Virus, which is revealed to be a computer virus.
