Crystal Snail is a reploid, robots who have human features such as DNA, feelings, and can think for themselves as well as make their own decisions, who is based off of a snail. He first appeared in Mega Man X2 as a maverick, which are reploids who pose a danger to the world. Let's learn about Crystal Snail.

Crystal Snail's background is unknown. He was not built by Cain labs, so it is likely he was built by another organization. Given how his stage has crystals and is like a cave and a mine. He could have been originally built to protect caves and mines from maverick activity. However, for unknown reasons he was already a Maverick before Sigma went Maverick. In fact, he was wanted by the Maverick Hunters as a criminal and Maverick. What he did to become a Maverick and criminal is unknown.

Given the definition of a Maverick set by the Maverick Hunters he probably went on a rampage or attacked his colleagues. When Sigma went Maverick he noticed him. The X hunters, who were built by Sigma, enlist him in their army. His role is to guard and attack the crystal mines that the mavericks are using. The Mavericks are using "his" mine to mine crystals for their own resources. He hides deep in the mine but will attack anyone who enters without Sigma and the X hunters permission. He also also set the mine with deadly traps.

X goes into the Crystal Mine to reclaim the Crystal Mine from the Mavericks. He encounters Crystal Snail and destroys him. With Snail destroyed the Mavericks no longer have access to the crystal mines.

Personality- It is unknown what Crystal Snail's personality was like before he went Maverick. He is a violent maverick as he will attack anyone who enters the mine without permission. He may not be social as he likes to hide deep into the mines. He likes to ambush and use the mine terrain to his advantage.

Appearance- Crystal Snail is a light blue Maverick with a reddish orange shell. As I mentioned he is based off a snail.

Abilities- Crystal Snail can freeze his opponents with his crystal hunter. He can also slow his opponent down with his slow sound waves. He is one of the shorter Mavericks so he can be hard to hit. Despite his violent traits he is not really powerful compared to some of his other fellow mavericks from Mega Man X2. He can move at a good clip and is agile, but only when he is out of his shell.

Attacks-His main attack is his Crystal Hunter. He will fire three ice crystals at his opponent. The Crystals can temporarily freeze the opponent allowing him to attack. After he freezes an opponent he will try to hide in his shell and try to tackle his opponent. When he thinks he is loosing the battle he will spin in his shell rapidly using his slow sound wave attack. This attack will slow his opponent down.

Weaknesses- He is weak to the Magnet Mine. The Magnet Mine shocks him out of his shell and electrocutes him. To do more damage the player can hit him with the mine and put one against the wall. He will run into the one in the wall doing massive damage. He is also not really powerful when he is out of his shell. Once he is out of his shell he can only use his crystal hunter attack.

If the player defeats him they will gain his Crystal Hunter Weapon. The Crystal Hunter can freeze certain enemies. X can also use the frozen enemy as a wall as the crystal surrounds the frozen enemy in a crystal.
