I was diving into some old-school games and came across a bunch of weird, wacky mechanics (remember the DK Bongos? :LOL. It got me thinkin, what game mechanics did you guys come across that just... never took off? Was there a reason they didn't stick around? Did devs just not give it enuf time? Or where they just too odd for mainstream play? Share your thoughts!

Also, if someone could bring back Guitar Hero, that'd be great. Just sayin'.

I remember this one GBA game, where it can detect the sun IRL, and the sun makes your weapon more powerful. I think it was really cool, but I can see why it didn't take off.

Guitar Hero is most certainly back. Clone Hero has been out for a while now, it's a fantastic fan-made version of Guitar Hero that is arguably better than the original games. There are tens of thousands of songs that you can download for it, including all of the official charts from all of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, as well as a plethora of custom charts for all kinds of different songs. Works with PlayStation guitars, and Xbox and Wii guitars work if you buy a PC adapter.

But anyway, to stay on topic to the point of the thread, uh... Power Glove. Yeah. There's the obvious one. Someone had to say it.
