Punch out is a popular Nintendo Game that originated from the 1980's. Since then several games of the series have been made. The game series is known for its cast of characters. One of the known characters is Van Kaiser.

Von Kaiser is a former German solider possibly a commander. He was also a boxer and was known as the German Steel Machine. After his service in the Germany army was done. Kaiser opened up his boxing academy. His boxing academy was not just for the military but for civilians as well. When he was not running his academy he was also competing in the boxing circuits around the world.

Kaiser started out as a good boxer. However, one day he was giving boxing lessons at his academy to troubled youth. The youth ganged up on him and roughed him up. This alone with what he witnessed in the military gave Kaiser PTSD. His PTSD started to effect his record some. In Punch Out for Wii his record is 23 winds and 13 loses.

Even though Kaiser has powerful jabs and uppercuts his PTSD keeps him from advancing up in the ranks. When he is faced in some Punch Out games. He covers his face due to his PTSD and yells Mama or Not my face depending on the game's language. This is when he leaves him self upon to attacks. This is also most likely how he lost some of his matches. Moreover, it is also what most likely keeps him at the minor circuit.

His attacks are mainly his Jab attacks, and upper cuts. His most powerful attack is his dashing uppercut attack. He will act like he is pulling his hair out, yell and then dash at the player with a powerful uppercut hook. This is when he is most dangerous.

His personality alters a lot in the Punch Out games. In the latest game he has a military like personality. Standing up in the attention position, calling for attention, and saluting. Other times he acts like a madman when he pulls his hair and shouts before attacking. On the other hand, it is obvious how much his PTSD effects him. He will cover his face and as I stated yell not my face or mama depending on the game's language. According to German translators in what are they saying in the games videos he says not again after getting hit several times.

In the Championship mode of his latest appearance. He is mad that he let his PTSD get the best of him. He undergoes mind training to overcome it. In this round he is much more dangerous and faster. If he is victorious he laughs at the player, moves around the ring and gives a military salute.

Here are his stats according to Nintendo
Height 183 CM that is six feet
Weight 65 KG about 144 pounds
Age 42
23 wins 10 of those being knock outs.
13 Loses

One could argue Kaiser is a complex character in the Punch Out Series. A character that could be dangerous, but suffers from PTSD that sometimes limits him. On the other hand, he is shown when he has his PTSD under control he can be good. I would also argue that Kaiser could be meant to be a sympathetic character. That is a character that is an enemy but gamers are supposed to have sympathy for. He is not a joke character like Gabby Jay or Glass Joe due to him being more aggressive and dangerous. Anyway that completes my bio on this well known punch out character.
