Did you have any cards that you sold, traded, or just straight up lost in the past and you wish you had them back?

For me there are a ton of such cards. Back in the day, I had original copies of the Egyptian God cards, the complete set of all 3 and I don't even remember what I did with them.

I also had a lot of Rookie cards of Ronald Acuna and Juan Soto from 2018 that I sold for cheap and the $2 cards grew to become $20-$60 cards each after a couple of years.

I regret selling a duplicate master set of Pokemon Celebrations. Still not too late to get another, but it took a lot of work to build up.

I think my mom put all of my YuGiOh cards in her shed. I regret not asking for them or taking them with me when I moved out. I had a first edition Cyber Dragon, an Ultimate Rare Raviel, Lord of Phantasms, and the God Cards from the first Legendary Collection. The moisture out there and lack of proper sleeves has likely destroyed them over the past 15 years.

I am beyond stoked that we're only 3 months away from another Legendary Collection, but the god cards I had were the ones with the colored backs, which aren't too pricy these days.

alexanyways : How do you even get a duplicate set to begin with? When it first came out, I think I bought like 10 ETB's and a handful of tins and packs and there was still like 15 cards that I was missing. Some of the special cards I had like 12 copies of but there were so many that I diodn't have at all after spending like $800.

zanderlex : In my first 3 ETBs, I had all but 5 cards. One of the very first packs I opened in my first ETB had a Charizard in it. Then I started buying those collection boxes that were all over the place, with a lot of them on severe discount in the 2021 holiday season, got the 4 of the 5 cards I was missing, and another Charizard in a Pikachu figure collection from my girlfriend, which prompted me to really want to finish another set. I wasn't able to get all of them, as I was missing a shocking amount of classic collection pulls and to this day, after nearly 120 packs, I still haven't pulled a single Flying Pikachu VMAX. To complete the collection, I bought the extras off of Facebook Marketplace to increase the lot value and sold them all as soon as they came in to make an emergency car payment. This was my very first Pokemon set that I even bought, and the luck I was getting was so crazy that it had me hooked on collecting them. I should have done a long hold on them, the value on this set will probably surpass a good deal of standard sets due to the classic collection reprints and the shiny Mew gold card.

I had nowhere near that luck with the Pokemon Go set. I'm missing two of the most important rares and a great number of cards that are super cheap, and I've opened twice as much Pokemon Go as I have Celebrations. I'm almost at the point of the sunk cost fallacy where I'm thinking it's best to just buy the singles I need before the price goes up.

Back when I was just getting into Yu-Gi-Oh cards, one of my first ones was a Dark Magician of Black Chaos, which quickly became my favorite card. That was until I was offered a trade of it for the Wicked Dreadroot, which I took.

Now don't get me wrong, the Wicked Dreadroot is one of my all time favorite cards, and one of the strongest cards at the time (probably pretty bad by todays standards), but the Dark Magician of Black Chaos was my favorite.

I eventually had to buy another copy, still have it and the Wicked Dreadroot.
