A lot of people have been opening trading card packs for the big hits, and the biggest ones have been harder to get than ever.

Take the Umbreon alt art from Pokemon's Evolving Skies. You'll be hard pressed to find that card for less than $500 US dollars, and according to data, you won't be likely to find the card in one of 1666 packs, which sounds insane.

My rarest card is the Charizard V alt art from Brilliant Stars. I bought a single pack at Walmart on my way home from work and it had the pull of a lifetime in it. I've read online that some people have opened over 2000 packs without finding one, spending tens of thousands of dollars to get this one card that's worth like $200 US.

How about you? Do you have any trading cards that you're proud of having?

I have a lot of cards that are relatively rare, but nothing that is exceptionally rare. I believe the two rarest pokemon cards I have are a a holo luxray card, I can't remember which one, but it was one of the originals from diamond and pearl. I wish I knew but its back at home. I also have a graded PSA 10 Girachi card, which isn't incredibly rare but does have value due to its grade.

I also collect Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic cards, my rarest Yu-Gi-Oh card used to be the wicked dreadroot, right when it came out, but since then I believe its value has fallen significantly. For magic, I have some cursed lands that my friend says are worth a good bit, but thats more his thing I just collect them to have some pretty looking cards.

My collections overall are probably worth 1000+, but thats primarily based upon scale and not so much individual value.

The rarest card that I own is a really cool baseball card. It's a rookie card of one of my favorite players, Yoenis Cespedes, and it's signed. There's also 100 copies.

What makes it rare is that there's only 100 copies total. Most cards will have a base version for autographs and a bunch of different parallels that are /500, /250, /199, /150, /100, /75, /50, and so on. For any given player, there could be more than 1,000 copies of the same card with just different copies and then there could be other versions, inserts, or chrome copies.

But for this one, only 100 cards were signed period, not just out of all parallels, but out of the entire product and year.

Technically, the rarest card I own would have to be my Jason Vosler Topps Now red parallel. It is number 2/10, meaning that only 10 of the card were printed. It's far from my most valuable card, but only ten of them exist, so I'd say that's pretty rare.

The reason that I have one is because Jason Vosler is actually my cousin. They made a Topps Now card to celebrate his first MLB home run back in 2021, and I bought one of each version: regular, blue parallel (49 printed), purple parallel (25 printed), and red parallel (10 printed).

Maybe next time I see him I'll ask him to sign them. Then they would truly unique.

The rarest card I own I think is the EX Mega X Charizard card, but I can't figure out if it's real or fake. I had got it from someone I knew in school who had been known for trading fake Pokémon cards, but I was told by another friend of mine that it was real.
I've looked up many times how to spot a fake Pokémon card, but I can't tell.
But I think the price it goes for is 70 dollars or something. I haven't really looked to see the price.
