https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/08/us/politics/bernie-sanders-drops-out.html

So, Bernie Sanders has dropped out which leaves Joe Biden as the only real candidate for the democratic nomination for 2020.

This, in my opinion, is handing the victory to Donald Trump at this point. I can't imagine why people could vote for Biden right now. The guy can barely speak coherently even under very controlled environments let alone imagine him debating against Trump.

I'm not sure what the Democrat establishment was thinking but this is handing Trump another 4 years. Unless you gets millions of deaths from Covid-19 (which seems less and less likely) I don't see a way Biden can win. And the funniest thing is that the Dems did this to themselves. They had dozens of younger, better candidates that couldn't gain any traction with Biden and Bernie running.

Anyway, thoughts on this? Do you think Biden can actually win? Will the media continue to cover for him knowing their only goal in the last 4 years has been to "get" Trump?

Congrats Donald Trump on a second term! I'll be looking forward to 4 more years of complaints from internet warriors as well as plenty of good meme material.

Wouldn't be surprised if the DNC actually wants Trump to stay in office and has thrown this election, either that or they're just as demented as Joe Biden.

Honestly, it's about time he dropped out.

The problem with Bernie, is that for all of his promises, and for how rabid his fanbase is (it's pretty rabid), he's a socialist, and his extremism was never going to win over independents unless like half the country was wiped out by Coronavirus (which doesn't appear to be likely).

His supporters aren't going to like hearing this, but odds are, he stood about as much chance against Trump as Biden does (which is basically 0, Trump, despite reported low approval ratings, still has enough independent backing, and an equally rabid conservative base, to easily win the election, thanks to how the electoral college works).

So it's great that Bernie dropped out. But Biden and Trump are still politicians who don't represent what I want, so it doesn't matter. Neither one is going to change what I want changed, and neither was Bernie, honestly.

At the end of the day money matters to most of the bigwigs, It's hard to imagine but some don't really value people as people at all.

I don't really have a right to say anything about US politics really but if trump does get re-elected maybe.. just maybe it'll be enough suffering for people to actually see the truth perhaps...

Or hopefully just someone who doesn't come across as that child in a playground who snitches on everyone else when bad things happen but tries to take all the credit when good things happen lol.

and yes Our prime minister is pretty much the same tbh

In the end, what the US needs right now is a business minded president. If the democrats can't come up with one, then we probably are best with Trump for another 4 years. I didn't vote for him but he might be the best option at the moment.

Check the numbers, Bernie won with every group under fifty. Problem is, the Boomers somehow managed to come out in extreme droves. Bernie did in fact increase Youth turnout, just thanks to the vicious anti-Bernie news cycle, he also drastically increased Boomer turnout.

As for what Leggy said about these "rabid fans", that's ridiculous. They analyzed thousands of tweets on Twitter and found no difference in supporter animosity. Also, as someone who has openly supported Bernie on there, I have been called every name under the sun by just about all other campaign's supporters, yet I haven't even sworn at anyone. Yeah, there's idiots on Bernie's side, of course, but the Bernie Bro thing is just a narrative that gets people to dismiss our viewpoints. Clearly it's effective. On the note of extremism by the way. The extremism you speak of is bringing healthcare to the richest Country on Earth, the only major Country that doesn't guarantee healthcare. Are you implying that these other Countries are all extremist? They also have way cheaper or tuition free College, that's extreme? It used to be the case that an average person could pay off their College debt in less than five years, now there's a good chance that if you get it, you'll have it for life. It's not by any means extreme to see that as an insane thing in such a place as this, aren't we supposed to be the best place to live? We used to tout how great we are. Back it up with numbers. I'll bring mine. Lastly, Bernie's policies aren't actually Socialist, he aligns more with Social Democrats, which are center left.

pennylessz : The Democratic establishment screwed him again. I doubt you'll find too many people that would argue that. Watch who dropped out when they did and it is obvious what happened.

However, your assertion that Bernie isn't a socialist is naive. He is a socialist and again, I doubt you'll find too many people who would argue that (except some Bernie supporters).

But hey, of course you're going to win over young voters when you tell them they can have "free stuff".

geeogree :

Nah. You cray cray.

Mayor Pete, who is gay, drops out and endorses the guy who was against gay marriage. A lot of people supported Biden similarly, despite the fact he's against what they stand for, and Bernie is for what they stand for (in theory).

Elizabeth Warren, who may have been the closest thing to Bernie, didn't even endorse him, which goes to show a lot of how his peers who ran against him feel. Those peers all also happen to be involved in the Democratic establishment. Huh. Weird.

Don't tell his fans that Bernie is a socialist, I say this having once supported Bernie in the last election cycle. They don't take it well! But it doesn't change what he is.

legacyme3 : exactly. People ripped Biden apart during the primary's and yet they now stand with him? Sounds like they have been promised a cabinet position or VP spot.

Who has actually supported Sanders after dropping out? I can't think of anyone remotely noteworthy.

Sanders has gotten screwed by the establishment twice and now he's going to be too old to run again. I wanted Bernie to win the nomination in 2016 and 2020 so that we could have a clear debate between capitalism and socialism so that the youth of the world could be educated properly about what socialism was instead of what they get taught in public schools about it.

It is going to be a tough election even if Trump basically has the victory at this point. There's so much change we want to have but me, and I think many people I know, feel stuck. It'll be my first time voting this year, so it's been nice to try to educate myself on all of this, but it's also pretty disheartening.

I don't think Biden can win or even come close. His campaigning hasn't been as obvious. Usually I can see a ton of campaigning on social media without having to look hard, but I've seen way more for Trump than I have for Biden. I think the media will continue to cover Biden though since I've seen the goal of defeating Trump mentioned like 100 times this year.

Pacman+Mariofan : I think that's the problem the Democrats have this time around. They have no message other than "Orange Man Bad!"

You're going to get 40% of the voters with that sure.... but there are enough people who either think Trump has done a great job (2020 ignored) and want 4 more years or are seeing the insanity that the Democrat party has become and want nothing to do with it.

I honestly don't expect Biden to be the candidate. I fully expect him to hold on as long as possible and then a switch will be made when they finally admit he can't run and they'll put someone like Michelle Obama in the spot. She could beat Trump especially if she swoops in late and the Trump campaign can't put up a real fight against her.

geeogree :

Right.

I think "Orange Man Bad" too, but I'm not going to vote based on that, because "creepy old white dude" is also bad, and is making a vice president pick based on gender, to play to both the black population and the female population. It's not based in actual politics, it's just being done for a superficial, s***ty reason.

If I'm not going to vote liberal (and I voted liberal last time!) in this election, based on the campaign platform, and I think "Orange Man Bad" is true, then the liberal party is doing something very wrong.

I'm the very type of voter they should be trying to convince to vote for their candidate, because I'm in the middle. But at this stage... I don't even think I'm going to bother voting. I absolutely hate Trump, and I also absolutely hate Biden. I'm not voting third party, because none of those are really legitimate this time around, and even if they were, I'd be throwing my vote away. It's completely disheartening to see that it literally does not matter what I do. I'm honestly surprised more Americans don't suffer from this same nihilistic view point.

geeogree : Yeah, people should know what they stand for more than what they stand against sometimes. That's an interesting thought, I wonder if that kind of switch will actually be made. That would make things less predictable.

legacyme3 : I think if more Americans don't have that kind of view point, they will in the future especially after what kinds of things we've been through this year. I know I've had to fight through whether my vote this year will matter or not. It feels like a trap where I'll end up regretting my decision no matter what I choose to do.

Well Bernie may not have gotten the presidency but little did we all know that he would end up winning the the Internet.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
