As we continue to make mistakes,
Learning little by little, advancing slowly,
Learning it's not enough, and too slowly,
Assuming the burden of failure and guilt,
Letting the weight drag you down in the undertow,
Only salvation is a moment to breath,
Never again to see the surface as you know it.
Ending each day and each moment the same,
We find it was but ourselves we had to blame,
In time, maybe this too will heal, and we'll grow.
Til then, we continue to be lost in the dark
Holding on to what remains of ourselves,
Masking ourselves within the confines of our soul,
Yelling to the void that we are here.
The void answers back with silence.
How can anything hear, in this empty space?
Only we occupy it in this moment. We know what we said.
Uttering the cold breathless words we want literally anyone else to hear.
Giving in to despair isn't so bad.
How long is eternity anyways?
"The end will come one day"
Says a pauper with no mask.
As we continue to make mistakes,
Learning little by little, advancing slowly,
Learning it's not enough, and too slowly,
Assuming the burden of failure and guilt,
Letting the weight drag you down in the undertow,
Only salvation is a moment to breath,
