The title is pretty self-explanatory-- What Amiibos do you have? For those that don't know, Amiibos are wireless figurine storage and communication devices developed by Nintendo for the Wii U, 3DS family, and Nintendo Switch.

When they first launched in June of 2014, I didn't really pay them any attention. I thought they were a neat little gimmick, but I didn't see much reason to buy and collect them. Fast-forward to September of 2014 with the launch of SSB4 for Wii U, and I eventually decided to give them a try. I started with Mario and Link and pit the two against each other after training against them independently and it was a pretty fun experience. Since then my collection has branched out and come to include the Super Smash Bros Amiibos for Pit, Lucina, Lucas, Mega Man, Ike, and Marth, the last 2 I bought shortly after Super Smash Bros Ultimate for Switch. I'd like to get Wolf and Toon Link at some point, but since I never see them in stores, I'll likely have to turn to online.

Overall, I think Amiibos are pretty neat, and I enjoy collecting the ones I main or use for other Nintendo games outside of SSB. So far my collection includes: Mario, Link, Pit, Lucina, Lucas, Mega Man, Ike, and Marth. How about you? What Amiibos do you have/plan to get and what encouraged you to start collecting them?

I only have 1, the link one for Smash. It was the last one that my Gamestop had so I got it.

I don't currently own any Amiibos, and I don't plan to buy any at any point either. Like your original thought process, I think they're a gimmick used to make money, and they're kind of pointless. I don't think I'll change my mind like you did, though. My brother does have some, and he's used them maybe once or twice.

Yeah, I still somewhat feel that way about them as a whole, but I still enjoy them for what they are, at least the ones I have anyway. I definitely don't care to collect them all like some people do. The only other ones I care to get are Wolf, Toon Link, Chrom, and Roy. After that, the amiibo collecting will come to a close (barring a really cool future DLC character for smash).

I never see him in stores anymore. I'm kinda glad I got mine when I did given how rare he seems to be now.

SacredShadows: Lol my store had 2 and after someone bought one, the other went unsold for like 2 weeks.

The only amiibos I have are the Shovel Knight amiibo and the Super Mario Odyssey cereal box amiibo. I only have the Shovel Knight amiibo because me and my brother wanted to play multiplayer Shovel Knight on the Wii U, but seeing as how that's now a feature integrated into the game itself, the amiibo is pretty useless. The cereal box amiibo has been sitting on my desk for about a year now, and I'm gonna try and keep hold of it for years, I believe it will become a rare item eventually. 

I only have 3: Waluigi and the 2 Classic Mario amiibos.

I have absolutely no amiibos at all, and I don't really want them. Honestly, it's the same reason I didn't bother buying any of the Skylanders games - it's actual game content locked behind a plastic figurine, and that's not something I'm into. Thankfully, Nintendo has at least done it with a bit more tact than Activision, although that wasn't too difficult to do.

I told someone from Gamestop to pick any 3 up for me. Now that I have Skyrim for the Switch, I want to take advantage of thr compatibility.

I don't currently have any right now unfortunately, but I do plan on getting some in the future though I would probably go with some Fire Emblem amiibos or Animal crossing since I think I like the look of those ones the most and there are games that I wanna play that you are able to use those ones specifically with.

currently i only have the link one for smash, always planned to get more but never had the space or money, maybe soon though.

I unfortunately have never gotten the chance to own an amiibo however I can say for years I have always wanted to have one just to mess around with in smash bros lol.

The only amiibos I own are Toon Link (Zelda series), Toon Zelda, Yoshi (Mario series), Donkey Kong (Mario series), and Wolf Link. I don't intend on getting any more since I'd rather put my money towards actual games and stuff.

I only have a Pikachu amiibo, but I definitely have a shopping list for the ones I want when my income becomes a bit more disposable... Snake, Joker, Cloud, and Terry specifically. Probably for whatever ARMS character comes out in Smash. Maybe I'll buy an Animal Crossing one too.

I literally have none because even though i buy a lot of useless stuff amiibos just seemed pretty much useless to me.

I understand at the time that it was somewhat hard to get hold of them and people hoped they'd increase in value massively. But honestly speaking most things like this end up having no actual value gained unless someone else actually wants them.

I haven't really heard of people collecting them anymore honestly. So yeah. Are they even used these days?

I should point out i'm not a nintendo fan so that's also another obvious reason but i will admit that i also don't really know the amiibo situation currently either.
