Toy Bizarre wabbitworld
This was always one of my favorite games from when I was a kid. Even though the game play is simplistic, somehow it's very addicting and the music is wonderful. I would play for hours trying to level up higher and higher before getting killed. Now I am passing on this game to my kids, thanks to this (confusing) but awesome website. The game is completely family friendly for any age, no matter how picky of a parent you are.
Game play is simple: you are trying to control out of control robotic toys; in order to "catch" or kill them, you can either jump over them without touching them or freezing them on the platforms by jumping on a counter platform; or you can pop the balloons before they "hatch." Once you freeze them you have to go back and collect them. You get double the points for killing them as balloons. The balloons come out of a valve; there are six valves each level and the four bottom ones can be turned off so the balloons come out on just the top. But beware, a nemesis robot can turn on all the valves and take your life away if she catches you! Each level has differing toys; the yellow are slow and the dark blue are the fastest; although at some point in later levels all of them get fast, so beware! Once you finish all the toys on one level you advance to the next hour.
It sounds simplistic but the addictiveness of it is in the details. It gets harder; and the platforms change each level as well; along with the buttons and which ones activate which. There are "extras" which pop up: extra lives (a man's face) or Coffee Break, which freezes the lady and makes you invincible and fast; you can go and just run through any robot and kill it without getting stung until the music for the break ends. If you turn off all four bottom valves while the nemesis robot is "alive" (yes, you can boot her off the screen temporarily by flying her off a button,) then you can get a bonus of 4000 points. It's hard; because of course the robot nemesis tries to turn them off on her way out the screen. Every 10,000 points you get an extra life; which really, really helps. The faster you complete a level, the more points you get.
There are "safety check" levels every few levels; these are basically you running and trying to turn off ALL the valves; you have at least one robot turning them on (and don't run into her!) The layout is always the same for these; so even when the platforms "disappear" it's the same. They also get more difficult; from fast moving nemesis to you moving fast, etc... it's always a different challenge which makes it interesting. Finish it fast enough and you will get 10,000 points! A little slower, you get 3,000.. and the slowest you get 1000. If you get stung by the robot, you get none other than the points you got for turning off valves (minor.)
So a very, very simple game that has a lot of little "extras" to help boost your score and make it addicting. I highly, highly recommend it!
One note: I don't think you can actually ever "win" the game. The times my mother and I got up high it would just start over at level 1 again; but this time the robots were super fast yellow ones. Maybe someone else out there knows if it's possible but I've never been that skilled. Doesn't stop me from playing it over and over though, oddly enough. LOL
Oh, one note on gameplay: to start the game, press F1. Depending on which version you are using (I did Java) the left mouse button is the jump and the keyboard left and right arrows are your left and right. Those are the only keys you need. I prefer to use the spacebar to jump but can't get the emulator working right now so I am stuck with the Java. Just a tip.
