A nice little game EagleTsubasa
Do you remember our favourite rodent and moggy battling it out on television with some form of cartoon violence such as a frying pan that, as kids, we obviously found hilarious? I never forgot this joy (if you could indeed call it that). That is why this game was an exciting prospect for me and I'd certainly play it again (albeit, for reasons that I can't completely comprehend).
Graphics:
Excellent for a Game Boy game. Some images even look like they've been pulled straight off the show (which they most likely have been). The game itself is of good quality in that it is very clear and it is easy to see where you are going, unlike some other games of it's kind.
Sound:
The sound is excellent. The theme song of the game is almost exactly like the theme song that you would hear on TV, as is the other music which maintains the liveliness that we have all come to expect from the TV show.
Addictiveness:
Despite how easy this game is, there is just something about it that makes me want to continue playing it. It's most likely just the tantalizing prospect of hitting Tom over the head with a frying pan or engaging in some other form of amusing hi-jinks which ends in the inevitable defeat of our favourite moggy.
Story:
There is not much of a story. Tom's owners are out and Tom decides to do the thing he does best (or worst, depending on the viewpoint). Chase Jerry. Leaving out cheese, Tom lies in wait for Jerry to emerge. Jerry, seeing the cheese, checks his fridge and, surprise surprise! His cheese has run out! Now it's time to gather up all the cheese while avoiding Tom. Jerry must navigate his way through his mouse holes in a plaformer-style gameplay and play mini games where Tom inevitably ends up sporting some kind of new bruise such as sawing the legs off tables to allow the table to hit Tom on the head or to fire toast in his face from a toaster. Each minigame ends with a picture of Tom in a hilarious situation having just lost.
Depth:
As the game is so easy, there is a few hours of gameplay.
Difficulty:
While the controls are easy, I've only rated it as a 5 because Jerry is a little difficult to control in that he jumps and moves too quickly and often results in Jerry hitting the platform above him and falling, requiring you to jump all the way up again.
