Street fighter II review SacredShadow
Hey guys, today I am going to be doing a review on Street fighter 2, a series of the original released in 1987, this game was released in the arcades in 1991! This is one of my favorite street fighter games and I think that it is a pretty awesome classic and I have been playing it recently and I think it is about time I did a review on it. So then, lets get started shall we?
Street fighter graphics are generally pretty good, they are nice and clear and the sprites in this game are nice as well. The stages and character sprites are very similar to those of the 1st and original street fighter featured a roster or 8 characters you could play as, Ryu and Ken, the 2 main characters and then there is Guile, Chun Li, E Honda, Dhalsim, Blanka and Zangief. Then there is the addition of M. Bison, Balrog, Vega and Sagat. The character sprites are pretty nice and the stages you fight each character in are also pretty detailed and clear as well. S overall, there is an improvement in graphics from the original street fighter, as well as 4 new characters to play as. Overall, the graphics and design for all of the characters and stages are awesome and I scored them a 9 because it is significantly improved from the original.
The sound of the game is pretty realistic, like when you hit a box or crate in the game, it sounds realistic. Also the characters when they shout, it is pretty clear as well and it is not blurry or unclear. If you thud and hit the floor in the game, it sounds realistic, or if you smash a crate, it also sounds realistic. So the sound in this game is pretty good for the most part. As for the music for each stage, some of them are catchy and the beat gets increasingly faster as the fight intensifies which is cool and it gets you in the mood for battling. So the sound of this game is decent and it is better than the first one which was a little more blurred and you couldn't really understand what the characters were saying and it sounded kind of muffled. But in this one, there is signs of improvement in the clearness of the sounds in the game as well as the clarity and realistic feel when you are playing in the game. All the sounds are on time and they do not lag behind unrealistically, so that is why I scored it an 8 because there is definitely signs of improvement.
This is an arcade game, so it would have to be somewhat addicting if it was to become popular. I find the game addicting personally because it is fast paced and it is also full of action. I think that is the best feature of this game, it is kept simple, but in a way it never gets old, it is just one of those arcade games you can play over and over again without getting tired of it. It is just one of those games, like pac man, or a better example, pokemon, it is pretty much the same concept every single game, but it just never gets old and it always seems to be fun. Plus the fact I have always been into street fighter games, so that contributes to why I scored the addictiveness of the game an 8. But for the most part, it wouldn't e an arcade game if it wasn't addicting and it motivated you to spend all of your quarters now would it?
I would've put N/A for the story, but there is a little bit of story in the game, it is just not as obvious because there is more emphasis on the fighting and the action of the game because it wouldn't be as fun if there was a long, dull story to take place of the action part of the game. But once you win and become the champion, depending on who you play, (because each character's story is different) they will give a little back story on why they joined to compete in the championships and also what they do after they win. So it really isn't much of a story, but I thought I should include this in here somewhere because it is the only real element of plot or story in the game, because most of it is just facing your opponents and trying to win the match. So I know it really isn't much for a story, but some games are good with little or no story at all, not every game needs a complicated, boring, drawn out story because that is no fun at all now is it? So even though it isn't really much to go on for a story, I scored it a 4, it just really isn't enough to qualify for a firm, visible storyline in the game, but it is just enough to explain why they are fighting in the first place and what their plans are after winning.
The game offers a decent amount of content, you can play in a few modes: You can go against the computer in a vs match where you try to win the best 2 out of 3. You can also go in tournament mode and face all of the other fighters in the game until they are all eliminated. Lastly, you can do a vs match with 2 players. It may not be a lot for depth, but you can make it more challenging for yourself by going into the settings and increasing or decreasing the difficulty of the computers if you find it too hard or too easy. Personally i place it on a harder difficulty, but that is because I am more used to it and I play these kind of games more, so it is just easier for me. But depth wise, it is an arcade game so it is just enough to keep you interested, and this is a game you could beat in an hour or less if you really wanted. So it isn't too much for depth which is why i scored it a 5 out of 10. There is some depth involved because there are different modes and you can adjust the difficulty, but other than that, it is pretty simple.
The difficulty of the game may vary on how good you are with these types of fast paced fighting games. I play them quite frequently so it is kind of easy for me, so that is why i gave them this score. Also because it is neutral as well, but to be honest, this game is not that hard, if you play it on the default settings and difficulty, it should be pretty easy. Even if you aren't good with street fighter, within a few tries of playing, you will adjust and get the hang of it and you will get better quickly. It is not that hard of a game to pick up on and learn, so that is why I scored it a 5. But if you are experienced with street fighter, then this should be a piece of cake. So, it is just not one of those games you really need to practice and play a thousand times to get good at, just a few tries and you get the hang of it pretty easily, so that is why I scored it a 5, but again, it can vary depending on how good you are.
Overall, these are just some of my favorite classic games, I just really enjoy playing them, they are my kind of game, they are fast paced and intense. I enjoy playing this game whenever I can and I definitely recommend this to street fighter fans, or for those who like fast paced, intense arcade fighting games, this is the game for you! I hope to keep playing this game frequently because it is a lot of fun and it is one of my favorite street fighter games and I hope you can enjoy it just as much!
So what did you think? Could this be improved? No problem! All of your comments and criticism are greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading! I hoped you liked it!

A super review for a super game SuperCrash64
Overall: 7.8/10 Super Street fighter 2 is one of the better fighting games on the Sega Genesis, It offers more content and more challenge versus the previous Street fighter 2 CE, but if you already own Street fighter 2 CE this is just a good alternative game.
Graphics:6/10 Super Street fighter 2 is a mere
update to Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Editon for the Sega Genesis, so with that being said this game looks remarkably similar. All of the characters are there and look great, but the fighters look pale in comparison to the SNES version of this game. Each of the character also have new animations, new backgrounds for the various countries out there, and everyone has a different colored outfit; Depending on which button you press determines which colored outfit the character will be wearing.
The Graphics aren't too bad overall if you compare this game to other fighting games like Mortal Kombat 3 on the system, they both look good but grainy.
Sound: 5/10 Super Street Fighter 2 is rubbish in the sound department. The voices sound scratchy but surprisingly Capcom was able to fit all of the original voice samples on to the cartridge, unfortunately all of the samples had be reduced on quality in order to make room on the game. All speech is present and sounds good.
Unfortunately, the music is the worst aspect of this game. The Audio pitch and quality is lower then Street fighter 2 Special Champion Edition. The music for both the SNES and Sega Genesis had to be arranged from the original CPS2 tracks meaning they don't sound entirely faithful to the arcade music. The worst part is that the SNES has the same soundtrack as the Sega Genesis version of Super Street fighter 2, but the Super Nintendo version sounds louder and much better.
Addictiveness: 8/10
This game really doesn't add or take away anything from what Made Street fighter 2 on the Genesis so great in the first place, it fights, it controls, and it plays all the same.
I'd say this game is slightly more addicting and slightly more challenging thanks to the new cast of characters that have been added, and with new characters means new combos, new endings, and more time spent learning how to master the character. So there's a high amount of replay value from just single player alone.
Story: 5/10
This is the same story as the last game. You pick a fighter, Work your way up to M bison and become champion.
Depth:8/10 This game has quite a bit to it.There's tournament mode, there's versus mode, there's one player mode, there's options were you can listen to music, adjust the difficulty, or even listen to some sound effects if you desire to do so.
While this game make look short, that's actually not the case since there's so much in depth revolving around the gameplay and the lots of characters to choose from.
Difficulty: N/A
I'm leaving this as a blank simply due to how Super Street fighter 2 Operates. The game has a difficulty adjustment setting in the options, so you can really adjust the game more towards your level.
Be warned if you set the game below 4 bars, you won't get any endings. You'll just get a "Thanks for playing" from Capcom logo.
