Best Racing Game On The Genisis!   drago
Road Rash 2 Is Probably The Best Racing Game On The Genesis! (Well In My Opinion.) You Start Out As A Rookie Rasher But As You Beat People In Races You Get More Money To Spend On New Bikes! The Game Can Get Even MORE Fun When You Have Two Players. In Mono A Mono You Verse Each Other On Your Own, There Is No Money In This Mode So You Can Pick Any Bike You Want! (I Advise To Pike The Bike You Are Comfortable With Because If You Just Started Out And Pick The Fastest Bike You Most Probably End Up Losing .) In Take Turns You Well... Take Turns. Its A Bit Boring Because The Races Can Be Quite Long. In Split Screen You Verse The Other CPU Racers With Your Friend. There Is Money In This Mode Because If You Pick The Fastest Bike Against Level One CPUs Its Kinda Like Cheating. Solo Is If You Want To Play On Your Own.
Graphics - I Give The Graphics A 7 Because They Really Are Quite Nice And Give A Sort Of 3D Effect. But The Things Off Road Like Houses, People And Animals Are Really Hard To Tell What They Are And Sometimes You May Bump Into Them Because Of This. This Is Only In Some Environment's Though.

Sound - I Give Sound A 6 Because Some Music Is Good While Others Are Quiet And Hard To Hear. Most Levels Have Quiet Music Which Isn't Really Good Because Those Ones Have Really Good Music! (Maybe Its My Laptop, Its Probably Not Though Because I Have This Game In Real Life.)
Addictiveness - I Give This 10 Outta 10 Because Of How Hard It Can Get. You Will Always Come Back To This To Unlock All Of The Bikes! (Although One Of Them You Need To Cheat To Get To. Here Is The Code! 27HG 5UF2 For The Wildthing 2000.)
Depth - I Give This An 8 Because The Game Is Long But There Are SO Many Cheats That The Game Can Be Made Shorter! This Optional Though So That's Why I Gave An 8.
Difficulty - I Give An 8 For The Same Reason... The Game Can Be Made Easier With Cheats... .
Tips - If You Chose Mono A Mono And Pick A Bike Go Back Into Solo Or Split Screen And You'll Have That Bike!
If You Beat Level 5 Successfully You Will Go On To Level 6 And Race CPUs With Wildthing 2000 Bikes!
Put 8PC8 5VNE As A Password And Beat The Arizona Track, You Will Then Race The Police On Level 6! Try Not To Get Busted!
Overall This Game Is A Must Play For Road Rash Fans And Others!

Serpentine Review features: Road Rash 2   ZeegSerpentine
Hello brothers and sisters in gaming, and welcome once again to the Serpentine Review. Thank you for joining me today, for today I bring a special review to a special game. Now truthfully, I only owned the Sega Genesis for a very short time (This was around the time when I was becoming a Sony fan so the PS was getting more attention from me then the other consoles I had owned at the time), but the console has brought about a lot of great memories and even better games. To be fair, Sonic was a favorite of mine, which I'll review that later...maybe, but then there was other games that had caught my attention, a lot that I really cant name off the top of my head even if I tried.
But then I found this game. The title itself caught my attention. Road Rash 2. I never could find the first one, but at the time I didn't care! This game is amazing. It has everything that it needs, but it does have to faults to it...which I will be reviewing today.
As always I will be reviewing this game threw Vizzed method, which is basing if off of Graphics, Sounds, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty, along with my own person enjoyment of the game. With that being said...lets begin.
Graphics: As expected, this is the Sega Genesis, so I'm not expecting the high end graphics, but honestly, I enjoyed the graphics. The motorcycles look exactly what they should, the characters look nice, and honestly the overall look is rather impressive. Unfortunately there is one major complaint. And that's the actual racing part of the game. To be honest the game just suffers when your playing the race, and everything basically tries to blend together when your turning, causing it to become disorienting and confusing. Its not to big of a problem, but when you get the faster bikes (Looking at you Viper with Nitrous) this can become a rather big annoyance with the game. For this one, I'll give it a good eight out of ten.
Sound: Again, this is a Sega Genesis, so again, not expecting much for the sound department. Though to be honest the sound is rather nice. Its the simple kind of Genesis sound, heavy synthesis, heavy sound, and a soundtrack that is really nice to listen to. Unfortunately the soundtrack is very short, which means you will here the same song multiple times, especially if you try to get the more expensive bikes later on (I'll get to that later.) For this one, I can't really put more into sound because, well, if you ever played on a Genesis, then you'll understand when I say, don't expect a lot. But be thankful for what you get. I give this one a six out of ten.
Addictiveness: Geez this game is very addictive. I remember when I first got it, I couldn't put it down to save my life! The bike buying, the racing, and even the fights that can happen while your in the game makes the game all the more fun to play with. Its very intense, and honestly, if your a hardcore fan or racing, you'll never want to put this down. The biggest drive behind this game is getting the fastest bike. And that is what makes this most addictive. Hands down this gets a ten out of ten. Don't believe me, you play it and don't find yourself five hours in the future.
Story: Strangely, this is a part that I can review, sense for a racing game, there is a bit of a story, all be it a very short and very unflattering one. The story is basically, Guy owns bike, Guy races with bike, Guy wants to be best at racing on bike, and so on. The story is more or less what you make of it, but even I cant stretch my imagination on this. So honestly, the story gets a pretty low score...maybe a 3 out of 10.
Depth: This is a bit of a fault that I again find in the game. Despite the game play and the racing portion of it, the depth of the game isn't really all that great. You can race on four stages, and the only difference in them is the track and the racers, as well as speed if you beat all four stages. Then there is what I talked about earlier, the game offers more bikes you can buy to increase your speed and handling. Sounds good right? Well it is, but its not that great if you know how to get the bikes without ranking up in the racing portions. So for depth...I say a five out of ten would be fair enough for it.
Difficulty: Again, this part of the game is rather disappointing. Yeah the game would like to trick you into thinking that you need to waste a lot of time into trying to win the race to upgrade your bike, but again, its only difficult if you don't know how to work out the kinks, as well as learn how to use the weapons that is found in the game. Once you find them out, the game is rather easy to play. So I'm going to give this one a simple two out of ten.
Well now everyone with all of that being said, I have put into factor the Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, Difficulty, and my own personal enjoyment into consideration, and after thinking hard on it, I would say that this game deserves a 8.3 out of ten which gives it the Own it rating. The game is defiantly worth owning just for the addicting factor, and as I said its a game that anyone who loves racers will want to play, but its just shy of a few points to get the official Serpentine seal of approval. But don't worry, maybe when you guys play it, maybe after you read this review, you will all go to play it and find out for yourself.
Well one and all with that being said I believe its time for me to leave. Thank your brothers and sisters for joining me and as I have said before, Keep you swords sharp, for the revolution is coming. Later!

Road Rash 2   classgame
We are rashing it up again, except this time it's in 5 states (Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, Tennessee, and Vermont), the graphics are about the same as the first game, which in my opinion is a good thing because, the graphics are kind of a downgrade in the third game but I'll get to that when I do review that game.
There isn't really a story in this game, but it's super addictive. They've added new characters to play against and added onto the backstories of the rashers that were in the OG game (the OGs being Ikira, Slater, Biff and Natasha, it seems that Helldog and Sergio are nowhere to be seen in regards to racers speaking to you) and oh while the first game only added one cut scene for whenever you advanced to the next level of the game, they added some kind of cut scenes there for if you win, finish, get busted by the cops, etc. Oh speaking of which we get new cops in this one (what happened to O'leary, Flynn, and O'Shea?).
I actually owned a Genesis over 20 years ago and I'm sorry that this was one of the games I didn't own, and didn't know it existed until I started playing with emulators over a decade ago (and didn't play for the first time until 2014, hey a decade ago you could only play GEN games if you had the plugin).
So I look forward to playing this again....as soon as I finish writing this review.
