A simple game for the younger gamers endings
This is called Puss N Boots, but it has nothing to do with Shrek. You play as the cat with the hat -and the shoes, as he takes a tour around the world. I'm not sure why you start at the Wild West in California and end up going to New York, the lack of story does not make this clear. However, knowing a cat (in boots no less) walking around the world would be too much, you do get several vehicle stages. The gameplay is very simple, jumping and shooting platforming with 3 weapons, and I think this would be a good game to introduce a young gamer to, as it is not overly difficult, and doesn't require much of you.

Well. They are not that bad. Garishly colored at times, but alright. Our hero is happy and colorful, with his dark hat with plume, his red coat, and of course, boots. The western stage doesn't look that bad, and reminded me of another NES game Mappyland. Backgrounds are a mixed bag, with some vehicle locations (the plane, the ship) being short loops. Since each stage moves you along on the map, the change of location mean you are always seeing something new. Nothing looks great, but there are some passable sections, and some not- in the sailing level your ship and the pirate ships are just as big as your regular character. The enemies are well, strange. In the Wild West you get attacked by outlaw cats, horseshoes, and jumping red balls? The bosses are quite large, but do not correlate at all to why they are there. Here's a giant frog robot that might be found in a Mega Man game. And here is a giant blue devil? What? It feels like there is some kind of story here, perhaps an anime based on the box art - and we just don't know what it is about.

Very short loops. The Wild West stage fits its theme. The first flying stage is probably my favorite, if I had to pick one. Sound effects are some low booms and clicks. Nothing here really worth much.
Addictiveness: 6
I have to give our hero Pero some credit - unlike most heroes in gaming - he packed well for the trip. There is no fetch missions, no power ups for him to get, and rides are always waiting for him. He has all his weapons right from the beginning of the game. His weapons are a bomb, a boomerang and a gun. You actually don't need to switch weapons at any point, you can beat the entire game with the gun - which is his default weapon, but its nice to have them there. Playing a platformer with a gun is pretty cathartic. The SMB crossover game (where you can play mario levels but with Link and Samus, etc.) feel very much like this. You are one of the few people to have a long range attack, and you trump nearly any foe in one hit. It would be good for anyone young who just wants to play something without any complications. But keep in mind its very short. The levels can end abruptly and you just move on to the next.

Other than our cat is going around the world, I couldn't make any sense of this story. When you fight the last boss(es), it just doesn't make sense. Who are they? Why are you gong to New York? Why are we taking a car in Arabia in the desert sand?
Depth: 3
The choice of weapons is your only real choice. The stages do have vehicles, a submarine, a hot air baloon, but they play just like the regular platforming - you just go right. Only two levels, London and Liberty show any variety in the game. Liberty also features a small maze that could frustrate younger players, but its not very long.
Difficulty: 3
Aside from the maze, the last boss and one evil jump section in London - the game is a snap. You do get continues, if needed. I assume if one has trouble, they could try using the different weapons to make their position less troublesome.
Overall: 4.8
I don't know what our Puss N Boots is doing traveling a world with submarines AND the wild west, but he is very happy to do so. This is a simple game that shouldn't be too much trouble to waste some time with. Its fast-food gaming though, there's nothing of value to take from this game.
