Gotta Collect 'Em All!   port753
I bought this game at a huge farmer's market because it had the word "Pokemon" in the title. I still have a physical copy of the game, except it doesn't save correctly, so whenever I restart my GBA, the game has no saved file T_T
BUT, that is why there's Vizzed :D
Anyways, the unusual style of a "Pokemon Card Game" is introduced, with a guided step-by-step, demo-duel. You are also able to do the demo as many times as you want for people who are unaware of certain moves during duels, and the demo covers most of the features in the duel. The duel itself ends after your Pokemon attacks, like any regular Pokemon game, so make sure to do whatever you need to do beforehand.
You are given the option of choosing 1 of 3 decks from the Professor, and from that point on you start your journey to defeat the 8 club masters and the ?4 grand masters.?
As far as story goes, I think it is very lacking. I usually over train what I should to beat the tougher opponents, but I could probly beat the game on a weekend, on Vizzed. You are needed to beat about 30 different people, and you're able to battle them as many times as you want though. After you beat the game, you're able to replay everything from where you left off. Anything you won after beating the final bosses is kept, and it's almost like your victory isn't even acknowledged, so you are able to beat the final bosses again. I think that Nintendo probably could have made the story MUCH longer and much more interesting like how they did in the Japan-Only sequel to this game.... -_-
The music, however, is very enjoyable for me. The normal trainer music is average. It's good, but not special. The boss music, I find is very enjoyable. Even though this is on a GBC, where 8-bit music and graphics are used, I think that this game makes the most out of it's current limits.
Again, there is a demo for how to duel, so that should take a lot of the confusion out of playing if you do the demo maybe 3 times, before you start dueling on your own and get a feel for how the duel runs. Also, I made a strategy guide for this game, so be sure to check that out, as it has tips on how to prepare for tougher battles... :D

Update needed   EX Palen
By the time the trading card games weren't as popular as they are nowadays, this could be called a risky bet. But it turned out to be a good move, seeing as how trading card games are so popular now. Throughout the many new generations of Pokemon, the trading card game has received numerous changes, as well as a massive increase in the card database. This game wasn't really a failure, seeing the number of plays it has here, so I'm still trying to figure out why Nintendo didn't make any other game like this. If the answer is because they would fall behind Magic the Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh!, I reject it, because it offers a much different playing style than those two.
Graphics: Well, this game hasn't much graphics to start with. The map of the game is small, there aren't many places to go either, and the action of the game, being a card game, doesn't have a big display of graphics. At least, the design of the characters seems alright, and the cards are also very good depicted if we talk about the Game Boy. In my opinion, graphics earn a 7.
Sound: There isn't much variation to the soundtrack throughout the game. Used to Game Boy Advance games, and more recently also to PSP games, which have a very varying soundtrack, added to the fact that I usually prefer to omit sounds when playing, doesn't favor much my opinion about the sound. Also, for what I can remember for the games I owned in real life for this console, the sounds in this game aren't the best ones Nintendo could select. For this, sound earns a mere 6.
Addictiveness: In my opinion, trading card games are very addictive by the simple fact that there are many changes you can make before facing a challenge, more than any other type of game out there. You can change strategies very easily, that is, as long as your card database allows you to do so. Also, we are talking about Pokemon, a game in which each type has advantadges and disadvantages against certain types. Surely, here we don't have that much type variation, neither we have dual-types and double weaknesses or resistances, but still the weaknesses and resistances we have allow for a little bit of strategy and very different playing styles depending on the opponent you're facing. If we add the fact of how lucky you are with the cards you draw, you can very easily be trapped within a challenge you can't overcome although you desperately want to pass it. Addictiveness receives a 9.
Story: Little to nothing to say here. There isn't nothing to do, you just have to get to the top, honing your skills with every battle. This is the only meaning, and there aren't any support characters that will help you nor there are any villains to defeat, so nothing to rate in here.
Depth: As any other Pokemon game, main game I mean, you have to battle through a set of the best players, earn all medals and then challenge the very top. As always, each opponent specializes in a set type of Pokemon, although the elite in here specialize around a special legendary card instead. The depth of the game isn't much different from the main Pokemon games like Yellow or Crystal, except the story, non-existent in this game. This game also revolves more about the luck factor, because if you draw a bad hand, there's a high probability you have to start over again due to the rather quick battles that take place in this game and how easy is it to win or lose a match compared not only to the main Pokemon games, but also compared to other trading card games as the ones I mentioned above. For all these things, depth gets an 8.
Difficulty: As in all Pokemon games, the key is to be prepared for what you're challenging, and as in all games, you can have a good glimpse of it depending on which badge you're going to conquer. Even then, this game is more challenging, due to type reduction, and sometimes a Pokemon that would win a battle in Yellow or Crystal can lose in here because of a newly attained weakness. The best part happens when challenging the elite players and their legendary cards, which have no weakness, and due to this game's rules, they can be easily powering up in the back row so they can strike you at full strength when they come out to the main row. Their powerful attacks and high HP make them really tough opponents, and in my opinion, anybody that can speed through this four cards in one try is worth of being called both skilled and, the most important, lucky. Difficulty gets an 8.
Overall: Well, the only bad thing is that I couldn't get this game in real life. Considering the fact I'm already a big fan of card games far before discovering this game, I don't know up to which point I could venerate card games now if I discovered this in time. Also, as I said before, a sequel to this game including the new additions to the card database would have been nice, but neither the Game Boy Advance nor the DS got one. And now, since there's an official online version of the game, the chances of seeing another game like this for a portable console have lowered to near zero, as has happened to Yu-Gi-Oh!. However, if we can expect a company to surprise us, Nintendo is the best suited for it, so never lose hope with them.

Pokemon TCG Review   Ghost.Busters
Hi Everyone . I'll make another review .But now about Pokemon trading card game here in vizzed .. But first of all i'll start it of with the introduction . My name is Ghost.Busters and i'm making this review so that you would know what is the game all about, what you can see on the game and many more. Another thing, i'm making this because of the staff application .. Where i want to apply as a game reviewer ..
Now i'll start the main review .
- Pokemon Trading Card Game -
.As I can see the main goal of this game is to become the pokemon master.. But fist you should pick you first deck from the three starter packs.. And that 3 starter packs are squirtle and friends , charmander and friends and bulbasaur and friends .. Just like pokemon red and green .. Or should I say the Gen 1 starters ..As you accomplish your dreams you should / will encounter many opponents such as gym leaders normal trainers and the masters .. One of your other dream is to have all of the cards in the world .. And to do that you should first get a craddex / card dex i don't know what to call it.. I think all of the cards in total is 200+  .. If you want to complete it too .. you should defeat many challengers .All of the complexityof the real world game has been captured here. The helpful professor Mason will give you cards as well..
.Here you have your own rival too .. Ass you defeat other players your rival will just randomly appear in every place .. Commonly , your rival will appear after you defeat gym leaders .. After you defeated every leader in each clubs ( lighting club , rock club , psychic club , fighting club , science club , water and grass cubs , fire club etc . ) ..Each club has their own techniques and deck types ..
After you got all the medals from every clubs .. You can now go to the pokemon dome .. In the pokemon dome you can fight against the very powerful grand masters .. You'll encounter grand master Rod with a dragonite deck , with his grand members , Courtney with a moltres deck , ( thunder ) steve with a zapdos deck , and jack with an artucuno deck ..
 Final thoughts / opinions -
Here .. I'll make my own opinions .. about the game.. firs off all i think the game is quite hard because you can't defeat the leaders of each club that easily but if you defeat them . I think you'll have troublw defeating the master and grand masters ..
The graphics are good too . the graphis is just like the one on pokemon silver / gold ..
The game's addictiveness is AWESOME i got addicted to this game once i understand the rules ..
The sounds and story is not that good because the game's sound is not as good as i expected and the game clearly doesn't have any story line because you can battle  leaders in any order you like ...
- Closing / Thanks  -
Thanks for reading my review hope you enjoy the game ..

Pokémon Trading Card Game   Redrunelord
The past, present, and future. These are the three parameters of the loosely based concept of time in which humans have devised in order to try and explain the movements of the heavens above them, and to explain what is the great cycle of life. The past, present, and future are intertwined in a manner that one can not exist without the other two co-existing in harmony. Humans often fail to recognize this when they make statements wishing one of these three would pass more quickly, more slowly or skip over certain spots altogether. Some people has an undying loyalty to the past, some has an unalterable opinion of the future, and some lives for the present and no other time. Some will also say that the key to the future is in the past, which Nintendo recognized as a plausible belief with the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
A large percentage of people who engage in video games as a leisure activity did not realize Nintendo was not always a video game manufacturer: they actually had their roots in card and trading card games. The Pokémon trading card game was one of Nintendo's adventures, not for innovation for a growing franchise, but for a reminder of their past, present and future. It was, and is, a popular game as an alternative to Texas hold-em or cribbage. However, in a manner to continuously unabated towards the future and beyond, this card game found its way onto the Game Boy Colour.
The objective of this game is identical to that of the card game: eliminate your opponent's bench of Pokémon or take all the prize cards (basically each prize representing a Pokémon you defeat) with your deck of 60 cards. This particular rendition of this popular game can not be properly explained in brevity through this documentation; the best place to learn the intricacies of this particular game is through the in-game tutorial which has been done excellently. The only issue that one could comment on with this tutorial is that while all the text for learning the game is not mandatory, the practice match is. This could infuriate players wishing to start a new game, as the player do not get to do anything until they can choose their deck. If there was an option to skip over this tutorial, but return to it later, then it would not be the inconvenience that it has manifested itself to be.
Before this tutorial is presented to the player, they are treated with a brief story line: the legendary Pokémon cards are looking for a new master, and the player you control wishes to inherit them. To inherit them, the player has to defeat all the club leaders (8) and rise as the
champion in the final tournament. This storyline is a largely butchered version of the classic Pokémon storyline, but it largely does work for the game. It is actually quite reasonable to expect a tournament for a card game, and for there to be clubs throughout the country / county / state / province / whatever, but the Pokémon card laboratory is a little absurd considering the context. It would have been better suited to
change the Pokémon laboratory into a sort of academy type situation, or another club that is devoted purely for strategy and getting players started. Overall though, this storyline should either provide comedic relief or be irrelevant beyond these musings as it is not integral for game play.
Before the game-play should be addressed, it should be worth noting hope the A/V department has fared. Visually, the game is largely on-par with any first generation Pokémon game which is acceptable. The Pokémon cards are distinguishable and works reasonably well, but some gamers may or may not be attracted to the blocky style the cards are represented in. Overall, however, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and whether they are a beauty or a beast, they are competent. As for audio, it is virtually non existent in two of the emulations, so if the player desires to hear the sound, play the emulator running off of the Vizzed Plug in (please note this particular statement will vary from emulation to emulation). The audio here is based off of the music in the main Pokémon games, but is ill suited for where they're applied. The battle music in particular is out of place, and does not pump the player up. The fact is since it is Game Boy Color and there have been much superior soundtracks, there is no excuse why this soundtrack lags behind of its peers. If you do not wish to hear this music, turn it off if it is enabled and play the soundtrack of Doom for SNES or 3DO and mix it with AC/DC.
Unlike other card games that is ported onto hand-held systems, the control is very straightforward in comparison. Some games takes a long time to figure out what buttons does what action, what you want to do each turn etc. But the control is decent and does not hinder game play. Outside of the games against the AI, your movement is a cross between Mario Brothers 3, and the main Pokémon games. The player travels between each of the locations (mainly clubs) using a map screen that was influenced by Mario 3 whereas the actual movement in these locations mirrored the classic Pokémon styling. Saving and whatnot works in an identical fashion to the Pokémon games, but through the emulators will require saving in-game then saving through the emulator (2 of each is recommended to ensure it saves properly). Building the deck may be somewhat awkward initially through the emulator, but it is one of those quirks that the player grows accustomed to. The fact that the player is able to own up to 5 decks simultaneously, depending on the
Challenging other players has been positively altered somewhat from the main series of Pokémon games. In both of these series you could challenge other players by talking to them, but this time around players will not automatically challenge you if you walk in their paths. As well, you are given an option if you wish to challenge a character which is immensely helpful should you press the wrong button and challenge them by accident. What is the single greatest improvement, however, is the ability to challenge each AI gamer repeatedly and as frequently as the player sees fit which can help boost replay value. The battle system works well except for a single flaw that could effectively bring this game from a gem of the GBC library to a mere spec of dust in the barrel for some players:
The coin and card draws.
Essentially, the core issue that some players will find is the seemingly random nature that they are subjected to abide by. When you're drawing the cards you may get all the wrong cards at the wrong times, but this is a factor in virtually every card game. A certain quote that "it doesn't matter what cards you're dealt but how you play them" comes to mind, as it is applicable. As well, depending how the deck is built, you can limit the effects of a poorly timed draw. The coin flip, however, is the true master of the game here. The coin flips follows a seemingly random nature, but in reality is actually prearranged based on a certain type of coding, but not in a predictable manner. The bottom line is, however the coin flip lands controls the entire game due to a significant number of moves and actions requiring the coin's (dis)approval. It could prove quite infuriating when the player, despite having a good plan and getting the right cards, could lose the game purely because a coin flip goes the wrong way.
How hard this hits the player depends on what kind of games the player enjoys. If the player enjoys a lot of card games, or other luck oriented strategy games (which is what this particular computer generated game is), then the coin flips probably won't bother them too much. What lessens the sting in losing a game due to luck is the player isn't hurt much if at all. You're exactly where you were before with all the cards you had before being eliminated by the unreachable power of the Pikachu coin. However, when you do overcome what may appear surmounting odds, it may leave a feeling of pure satisfaction that you are the true champion.
To conclude, is this game a gem of the GBC library, or the Shaq Fu of Pokémon games? The game is rather competent in most regards, and if it provides entertainment or results in the defenestration of the cartridge depends entirely on how the player treats luck oriented games. If the player do not mind the luck factor involved, however, it could easily be a very enjoyable game, especially once you beat the game and got total control over what cards you got. This is an excellent simulator for deck designs, and a good means to practice the Pokémon Trading Card Game by yourself before wagering five dollars or a Coca Cola (Pepsi if that does not seem adequate) over pure guesswork. In the words of William Earnest Henley, "[
I] am the master of my fate: [I] am the captain of my soul." These words leaves the final question, and the final decision of whether or not this game becomes a lethal weapon in the arsenal of enjoyment, an oriental blade made specifically for display, or a neglected possession thrown away in the hands of the player.

Pokemon Trading Card Game- Pokemon, TGC   honneydewp243
The Pokémon Trading Card Game, or Pokémon TGC for short, has long been one of my favorite games, period. Sadly, though, other than by using ROM downloads and this site, very few people have been able to enjoy this. I was lucky enough to own three game cartridges, and am writing a review as a way to recommend this to others.
The graphics rating is at an eight, strictly because I believe they could have done a little bit better. I do think that it had a certain essence of Pokémon, though, in the pictures on the cards and the characters as well as the over-world. It was unusual, however, the way the allowed the character to move so oddly. It was a tad bit uncomfortable to me, as I am used to tile-set movement. The card graphic were very well drawn and actually were on the real Pokémon trading cards that so many of us loved. So, for those reasons, graphics get: 8
"Ah, music! A magic beyond all we do here!" That was a quote by Hogwarts professor Albus Dumbledore. And, in this game's case more than ever, it is very true. The music in this game was orchestrated to digital perfection. I gave it a perfect ten just because of the music. As for sounds, well, there was a slight absence at times, but those that were there were on par with other games in the system. So, Sound gets a: Perfect 10!
Addictiveness. Now this is available in every Pokémon game to be on the face of this planet, and this one is no different. Every game you get different cards and have to make different strategies specific to your deck and the choices of decks you made at the start of the game. The booster packs have random, but themed, card in them. The mail you get also gives you random cards. No two games are ever he same. Just like the classic Pokémon games, there are powerful cards and weak cards. All of that makes it so addictive. The only problem is the opening battle. it's long, annoying, and can discourage people from actually starting a new game, so Addictiveness: 9
Story and depth are rated the same for the same reasons, so I will review them together. The game has the classic "beat the league, be a champion" story-line, but with a lot less of an actual story. Instead of having to do it in chronological order, you can do it in any order. There are a few things to do, find secret cards, but that's only two or three times. The only reason I rated these categories that high is because of a certain oddball character. He is a riot. No spoilers as to his deck, though. So, for all of the above, Story and Depth: 6
Last but not least, we have the difficult category. Just the same as any unhacked Pokémon game, it's slightly difficult but not too much. It can get really frustrating getting the wrong cards and having to start over, or being powerless to your opponent and having to surrender or lose. There is no training of Pokémon, or wild Pokémon, or trainers that battle you when they see you, so it is a little easier than other Pokémon games. It is very simple to learn (though it may take patience), and it does have slightly awkward walking, so the jury has come to a decision. Difficulty: 7
Overall, I gave it 9.Because of all of the good reasons above and it just is so fun to play.
   Court, adjourned.

Pokemon Trading Card Game- GBC ~Recommended~   Nksor
Here is my first review using the new review system.
This is reviewing "Pokemon Trading Card Game" for the Game Boy Color.
Graphics (7): Graphics are alright in this game. They're comparable to Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver, which came out at about the same time as this. All of the sprites and maps look errorless, and the card drawings themselves are nicely done.
Sound (9): This feature is excellent in the game. All of the separate areas in the game have their own little tunes, along with the Leader battles. Most all of them are nicely composed, too.
Addictiveness (10): Wow, this game rocks in this category. Like the original Pokemon, your goal in this game is to Catch Em' All (or, I guess, in this game, Collect em' All :P) and to defeat the Leaders and a group similar to the Elite 4. The character you control's dream is to collect the "legendary cards", very rare cards quite similar to the legendary Pokemon feature in the traditional RPGs. Needless to say, if you decide to complete this task, it'll take a long while and most likely you'll be hooked until you get most of your collection complete.
Story (7): Nothing really unique in this, but I guess it's an all right story. It adds a few twists to the regular type plot, keeping things interesting.
Depth (10): Supposing you read the part about addictiveness, you should be getting my point about this game. It takes a lot of time and a lot of dedication to complete, and that's because of the multiple card collectors and cards to collect. Tons of depth in this game, along with most other Pokemon games.
Difficulty (7): It's pretty difficult to defeat all of the leaders. They each have their own type, and they each have their own strategies. If you take on the challenge of collecting all of the cards, the game's difficulty goes up quite a few notches.
Overall/Average: 8
All in all, this is a very good game.

Pokemon Trading Card Game   epicpokenerd!
This is a very nice game, with good graphics. At least I would say that, if I lived in the 20th century. If you want to know why, read on.
Graphics: 7/10. Even for its time, and the console its on, the games graphics weren't that great. They are very pixelated, glitchy, and overall just shown very frame by frame like. I am sure that it has better graphics than some other games, but compared to ones like the legend of Zelda for the gameboy color, its like the NES being compared to the N64. It just couldn't get much farther apart. But its graphics are better than about 60% of the other color games.
Sound: 5/10, 4/8, 2/4, or 1/2. However you put it, its all the same. The games sounds and music are so annoying that I wanted to shoot myself. The only upside about it is that I could turn down the volume.  its music is absolutely horrible, and that beeping noise it makes when you press a in a conversation or bump into a wall happens so frequently, that fortunately you grow immune to the little annoyance.
Addictiveness: 5/10. Based on all the other features of the game, I rate it low. However, I might play it again just to collect all the cards. You know, because I am just one of those people. That's why I rated it somewhere in between.
Story: 6/10. The story in this really isn't all together. I like it because its different from all other Pokémon games in its uniqueness, but its also because of that that I rate it below 8. The story is so simple, its boring. Basically there are 8 "legendary cards" that you have to get from the 8 masters. That's it. Nothing else. No one trying to take over, nothing. The only other thing is that you have a rival who tries to get the cards before you do.
Depth: 8/10. This is the highest aspect of the game. There are many cards in it that you can collect, and among them of course are the legendary cards. There are few places for you to visit, but many secrets to find in the game that will probably help you.
Difficulty: 6/10. This game has very simple controls and it is easy to figure out. There may be times that you are unlucky, such as when you are battling and you start with a cruddy group of cards. However you only have to worry about the combination of cards in the deck, and not the moves of the Pokémon, since they don't level up or learn new moves.
Overall: overall, I give it a 6/10. The combination of all these aspects seems to fit this rating. But they could've been much, much more creative when making it. The story is so simplistic, the graphics aren't that good, and its a combination of easy and difficult. Not to mention when playing cards, you cant play evolution cards without having its previous evolution on the field. All in all, its not a great game.

This game is really good   BattleDomeGuy
I really like this game. Everything about it is really awesome, and I really hope that there will be a sequel released in the United States soon. This is what I think of the game.
Graphics: I give the graphics an 8/10. The Pokémon cards themselves look exactly like they do in real life. The attack animations are pretty good, but not perfect and the character models look good for a Game Boy Color game.
Sound: I give the sound a 9/10. The music in this game is fantastic. It's catchy and really fits the mood of the game, especially when you fight the Grandmasters at the end of the game. It makes playing the game even more fun.
Addictiveness: I give the addictiveness a 10/10. The game has so much variety and so much customization. Despite only having the first few sets of Pokémon cards to choose from, you still have hundreds of ways of building your 60 card deck. You could make so many different decks that you never would get bored. And when you beat the game, you would want to play it again, but do it differently. Everything about Pokémon itself is just simply addictive. The only thing that would make this game even better would be adding in the ability to battle and trade with your friends without a link cable.
Story: I give the story a 5/10. The story is definitely the worst part of the game, but it isn't that bad for a Pokémon game. So your character wants these rare Pokémon cards called the Legendary Birds, which are the 3 legendary bird Pokémon, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos from Generation 1. In order to get them, you have to go to the 8 clubs and beat the club masters in a game of Pokémon to get the 8 medals. After you beat the 8 clubs, you have to fight the 4 Grandmasters of Pokémon. After you beat them, you get the Legendary Bird cards and win the game.
Depth: I give the depth a 10/10. There is so much to do in this game. You can make countless different decks with the hundreds of different Pokémon cards you get to choose from. You get different cards from different trainers so the game forces you to keep battling trainers to get more booster packs. Every time that you get a new booster pack, it has more and more different cards in it. You use these cards to upgrade your deck so the game is easier. If you really wanted to 100% complete this game, you would have to keep battling to get more booster packs so eventually, you would have every card in the game, but that would take a very long time. Depth and addictiveness are what Pokémon was designed for. And this game shows that to no end.
Difficulty: I give the difficulty a 5/10. Most of the time, you have no control of the difficulty because, since it's a card game, it's based more on luck instead of skill. However, if you battle enough trainers and get enough booster packs, you will have enough good cards to win in any situation. This game is really easy compared to other Nintendo games but it has challenging moments, like fighting the Grandmasters and some of the Club Masters.
Overall: I give the game as a whole a 9.5/10. It isn't perfect, but it is really close to being perfect for it's era. Even today, it is a ton of fun to play and has extremely high depth, addictiveness, and sound. It isn't that hard and the story is just ok, but I really recommend it to anyone who knows at least a little about Pokémon. The only thing I really hate about this game is the fact that the sequel was never released in the United States or translated completely into English.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Review   XxEzraxX
So I may not be the only one here on vizzed who has gotten into the Pokémon Card Game and loved it, but for those of you who have not this game is the perfect game to teach you how to play. It is really quite simple once you play, and to be honest I didn't know how to play when I was younger I played this and wanted to smack myself a hundred thousand times because it was so easy. This game however, throws a little twist to the card game and gives you an even bigger goal than winning your prize cards in a match.
You start as a young Pokémon card collector who decides to start playing the card game because of a chance to win 'the legendary cards'. You then talk to Dr. Mason who gives you your first starter deck of your choosing and takes you through a step by step tutorial on how to play the card game. After this you must then defeat different card players to gain their badges much like battling gym leaders in an average Pokémon game only using cards. After this you must then defeat your rival and gain the legendary cards. But those badges also serve a purpose rather than letting you win the legendary cards, they are essential to operate different computers in Dr. Mason's lab to build different types of decks as long as you have the cards for it that is. Now I hate to go off topic a little but I have a little interesting fact about this game that I don't think a whole lot of people know, in Japan there was this singer that a lot of people know by the name of Imakuni and for a while Nintendo was using Imakuni on some of their trainer cards (of course they were joke cards and couldn't be used in official Pokémon tournaments), and in this game Imakuni makes an appearance he will have a black outfit on with some crazy ears he will also use some of his joke cards in a battle with you. So keep a look out for him, below here I will attach two pictures one is the actual Imakuni and the other is Imakuni in this game:

Continuing on now, I rated this game a 9.5 for mostly nostalgic reasons it is a good game but could be improved. The game play could have been changed to make it seem more realistic or even more fast paced. But it is a fun game, that passes time quickly and also if you are having problems make you rage like no other. Now for the graphics I rated this game a 7 because lets face it they were not that great, and I understand that at the time it came out for gameboy color but other games had higher quality graphics for the same handheld and some even came out before this game. As for sound an 8, I like the music for the game it was nice and to me kind of peaceful and relaxing. I also feel like a lot of the sounds made the game have more feeling during battle or while strolling around one of the many locations in the game.
As for the addictiveness I rated this game a 7, it can get quite addicting as long as you are on a winning streak. However, as soon as you start losing a few matches you begin to hate life and everyone in it putting the game down and swearing that you will never pick it up again. Sometimes it will feel like the game is purposefully screwing with you, but hold on and keep playing because you will get somewhere I promise. As for story a 6, it actually had a story granted not much of one like it's sequel but it still had a decent story and that was beating your rival to the legendary Pokémon cards and defeating all those who stand in your way too. As for depth and difficulty both a 5, it wasn't that long of a game or that hard, true it may get a little challenging if you can't seem to draw the right card at the right time (like energies) but it really is not hard when it comes to overall game play and if you play a few times you will easily overcome most if not all of your opponents.
Now I really loved this game, and I recommend it for anyone who likes the card game or wants to learn how to play the card game it will certainly teach you how. It is also a fun and real lovable game. I hope all of you who chose to play this love it as much as I do and will become interested in actually playing the game, and maybe one day we will have a Pokémon battle.

Fun, but lacking   Apathe
Pokemon Trading Card Game offers exactly what the name implies. The card game. Play any of the other Pokemon games if you are looking for a story. This is purely about beating other "gym leaders" for all the different type medals (ie. Grass, Fire) using your pokemon deck. Yes game comes from the same vine as the other games, although it lacks creativity in the story department, barely straying from the "usual story" of our fella Ash Ketchum. How it mirrors is in the beginning of the game, you decide between 3 decks of cards. Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander and friends decks. From there you're off to battle for all the medals and eventually receive all the legendary pokemon cards. Woo. Whether or not that sounds fun to you is your choice. It is pretty addicting if you like Pokemon, and it passes time. The controls are a little hairy,  but in all honesty they did a good job. I would suggest at least trying this game. And have fun!

Pokemon Trading Card Game ( TCG ) Review   DeadlyFart
This is another great pokemon game developed by Hadson Soft and published by the coolest company Nintendo . This was first released in Japan with a different title / name , it was called the Pokemon Card GB in the month of December 1998 , and had an english translated version released in North America in the month of April 2000 and also in Europe in December 2000 . Here , the character you are controlling is not Red any more , his original name was Mark . Mark must travel all around the game world while battling other players using a deck containing 60 cards each . To complete the game you should defeat all the 8 different club masters with different deck types representing their own club and deck types .If you successfully defeat all the club masters , you get to challenge the powerful Grand masters and earn the right to possess all the Legendary Cards .There are a total of 226 different cards inside the game that you should collect.
I know that every one / every body that love or likes pokemon have pokemon card , some still have them on there shoe box hidden on their closet , others gave them to an acquaintance or some close friends , and maybe others sold them on eBay or on a garage sale or some thing , but only few got the chance to learn how to play . I know that it is quite more difficult to understand if you play them using real cards , having real and live battles with your friends or your real life pokemon rivals . But if you learn how to play , it's quite fun .Some others don't play them but only collect them .
8 / 10 Graphics :
The graphics of this game is great if you compare it to other pokemon games with the same consoles ( The GBC ) . You can still see some extra pixels on the characters of the game . But other than that , it was great . Here , I will give a score which is 8 / 10 .. I can't really explain why I gave that 8 but I think this game really deserves an 8 in the Graphics category .
7 / 10 Sounds : The sound was great , there is a different tune in ever place same with the club leader and master battles . Your wondering why I only scored 7 right ? Well , I scored 7 because I really hate the tunes even though they are all unique and different . And that beeping sound that I hear has horrible . At the half of my game play , I turned the volume down because of that .
5 / 10 Addictiveness : I'm the king of person that rates randomly in between . I rated this because I really didn't like it that much but liked it at some point of the game . But maybe someday I will play this game again to collect all of the cards and complete my master deck . But I really don't want to play this game again if you ask me . An that's just it !
7 / 10 Story : In some strange reason , I just don't think the game has any story line that you should follow . You can pick the next gym club that you want to battle . I think if they arrange it from the easiest to the most difficult , I would rate higher . Other than that , I think the in-game story is quite interesting for me.
10 / 10 Depth : It really took me a long time to finish this ( It was so long , I never sleep that day just to finish it ) . If you are planning to collect all of the 226 cards in the game , I think it will take you a week or two to finish it .
9 / 10 Difficulty : The fact that you can pick which club leader you want to battle first doesn't change the other fact that you still have to bettle the others . I mean if you don't want to battle the water club because the club leader is very strong you still have to battle it in some time of your game play . So for me , the game difficulty is at a really high level !! That high it reached heaven !
8 / 10 Overall : Overall , the Pokemon Trading Card Game it self doesn't seem to attract me . I think it is because of it being quite old .But other than that , I don't like collection 226 piece of papers . I like the Role Playing Game type of pokemon if you ask me .

Pokemon Trading Card Game   cryzaj7777
The graphics in this game were fair and very nice for their time. Rate 8
The sound was very good, it matched up with the scenes very well. Rate 9
I was addicted to this game from the start, it still has the same drive to get all the Pokémon as the rest of the games in the series. Rate 9
The story was really forced and one tracked. Rate 3
Though it's small the game adds a considerate amount of content through all the different cards. Rate 4
It's pretty difficult, consisting of mostly bosses and the elite four being very over powered, it's a pretty hard game. Rate 8

Glitches
See a coin flip before it happens.
Coin flips are not random and happen in a pre-determined order. To exploit this, use an attack, trainer card, etc. that involves a coin flip. If the flip doesn\\\'t come up what you wanted, immediately turn off the game without leaving the screen that shows the coin. Turn the game back on and select Continue Duel. The duel will be where it was immediately before you had flipped the coin, but the outcome of the very next coin flip will always be the same as the one you just saw. This trick is extremely useful because you can keep from wasting trainer cards or attacts if you flip tails, and by skipping your turn you can even guarantee that your opponent\\\'s next flip will be tails.

Note: Do NOT try this trick on the coin flip that determines who\\\'s turn is first, as your game will NOT save

60 Free Energy Cards
The tech in the upper-right corner of the Mason Laboratory will give you 60 free energy cards if you dont have any energy cards (other than the ones in your deck). If you want, you can just make your decks chock full of energy cards and then talk to the guy.

Peek at all of your prize cards.
The prize cards often come in handy while in a heated battle. The only problem is they are turned face-down, so you have no clue which card you are going to pick up after you defeat an opposing card. This is the trick to break that rule:

First, knock out the enemy\\\'s card, and when you are told to pick up a prize, choose any one you want. Remember which card you looked at, and reset your gameboy. Choose \\\"Continue Duel\\\" option, and you will resume right before you knocked out the enemy\\\'s card. Pick up another prize, and repeat the process until you either find a card you need, or until you know which prizes you have. This trick can really make the difference in a duel.

Ravers-Disease 09-30-14 - 08:42 PM
I finally found and beat the grass club leader now is the fight club leader hes the last one but I still cant find the last pupil anywhere. Ive searched all the clubs. anyone maybe remember what the last pupils name is? I already beat chris and michael.
port753 09-30-14 - 04:31 PM
Ravers, the pupils are in the secondary room of Rock and Fire Club (the room to the left of the lobby ) The last guy will be in the lobby of the grass club. Since you cant find him, my guess would be to talk to Fighting leader, then go to grass club lobby
Ravers-Disease 09-30-14 - 10:33 AM
Anyone know where the last guy from the fighting club is? I cant find him anywhere have to defeat 3 of his pupils and cant find the last one plus the grass club leader is always gone. fighting and grass are the last 2 clubs I need to beat
