Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure review   IgorBird122
This is IB122 for another Video Game Review (hopefully this turns out better than the Tetris review). Anyways, this game that I am reviewing is on the game Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, this game is a pretty underrated game in the whole series that is very underestimated for the SNES.
Graphics:
For the graphics in this game, it is pretty alright for the 16-bit version, although parts here and there are a little mis-colored and a little off, and the graphics blends in too well which does cause some confusion in the game like where your path is and all, but as for the character spites, they're all pretty well done though, even for the 16-bit system, really nice.

Although it's foreground/background graphics, I pretty much still give this game a 6 out of 10.
----
Sound/Music:
The sound effects in this game is pretty alright though, but some parts does sound a little cheesy though, With the movement sounds and the use of weapons does sound a little good, but some other parts are a little off and sound a little strange though, and for the enemies, they sound pretty good though, in fact, maybe a little better than you though.
Ok, for the music, pretty much like I said for the sound effects, the music is pretty alright to, but it's not a whole lot to remember from in this game, and some parts in some music is a little cheesy as well, some parts of it is a little off, but that doesn't really make it bad though, I think all and all, I think the music is alright.
Despite a little bit of of the sound and music sounding a little bit off, I still give this a 7 out of 10
----
Addiction Level:
For the addiction level is pretty good for this game, it is pretty much something you would play here and there (but not pretty much all the time though) and I have played this version and the Game Boy Advance version, and I got to say, I have played this game numinous of times in the past when I had the SNES and the Game Boy Advance, despite it's graphics and it's sound and music, this game can be pretty addicting though, well, that is pretty much based on my opinion though.
On how much I'm addicted to this game, I give this an 8 out of 10
----
Story:
The story in this game is very interesting, it first happens that Pitfall Harry happens to bring his son Harry Jr. down to the jungles in a Mayan temple and then while Harry was looking around in the temple, his father happened to got kidnapped, once he finds out that his own father was kidnapped, he went of through the jungle fighting against some of the creatures in the jungle, and you pretty much have to travel through the jungle, through the mineshaft, and a Mayan Village in search of Pitfall Harry> I got to say, this is a pretty good story though, but it's not the first game I heard of someone kidnapping someone and someone has to save that person, but still, I think the story in this game is pretty interesting though.
On how this story played out, I'm going to give this a 7 out of 10.
----
Depth:
The Depth in this game isn't really a whole lot

----
Depth:
The Depth in this game isn't really a whole lot, Pretty much it's just a straight forward game, they're not a lot of different things you can pretty much do, although in each of the levels, they're a lot of secret paths to take as well, but not a whole lot, but I heard you can be able to unlock the Atari 2600 game "Pitfall" in this game, but I haven't gotten to that point when I made this review.
With the lack of more depth in this game, I'm giving this game a 5 out of 10, still ain't bad, but could be higher.
----
Difficulty:
The Difficulty in this game is pretty hard, I got to say, I remember when I was younger when I played this game, I can pretty much get through half of the game with no problem, but since I haven't been used to this game like 10 years, I'm pretty much lucky to beat the 1st level, but that doesn't mean you can't be able to pass the 1st level, it just takes a little bit of time of getting used to once again, once you get used to this game, this game is pretty much easy picking, I know without me playing for a decade, that did take a lot of time out of remembering on what to do and I had to memorized this game once again. Also, it's not just memorizing, but even know if you lose all your health, you still get like 2 continues, but then after that, it's game over.
Since it taken me a little while to get used to again with the difficult level, I give this a 9 out of 10
----
Overall:
The Overall thing I got to say for this game is that despite some of the scores for this games (like the Graphics, the Sound/Music, and the Difficulty, this game is pretty good nonetheless, And this might be a really underrated game in the series, mostly because on how horrible Pitfall was on the SNES, not a lot of people were interested in this game series anymore which cause this game to be really underrated, but I think it's an alright game, not one of the best games I played, but it's still alright, Do I recommend this game, meh, it seems alright, if you feel like trying it out, that's great, if not, I understand.
Overall, I would give this game a 7.5 out of 10, pretty good game, but not the best out there.
