A Good Game Clerma
This is a good game. It has some graphic issues but nothing too severe. The menu is confusing to get around but it does have some good features. I like the 3-poiint shootout. It reminds me of games these days. The reason I rated it a 9 is due to the confusing menu and plus the controller Pak is very limited.
Graphics 8/10: It has overall good graphics (minus the graphic issues). It is in 3d and for its time it is best that you could get.
Sound 9/10: "You hear the crowd cheer you on and the announcers going crazy. Then there goes the buzzer......SWISH!!!!" This is just one example of what the sounds add to the game. You can hear the dunk like its right next to you and every swish.
Addictiveness 10/10: You can do a lot. Once I start playing I can't stop for hours. Each game that you play is exciting and you could go on for hours.
Story 1/10: There is no story it is a sports game.
Depth 9/10: As I said in addictiveness there is a lot of stuff to do. There are many play modes and you can even create a player.
Difficulty 5/10: The controls are easy to master and it is to easy to get in to the paint. But it is almost impossible to hit a three.

Great all around game; Awesome for its time tdutton99
I got to say this is certainly one of the best games on the retro game room. For its time, (released on Halloween 1999), it has great graphics and sound with a sick background beat going. Rosters and create a player features are great for the creative minded and the game play is really exceptional. Sports video games, especially in its era, often had issues with lag and poor graphics which can really mess up the game play of what is otherwise a good game. With Live 2000 the graphics are great and there is never any lag when playing on Vizzed. The rosters on the game are completely comprehensive, missing just a couple of rookies from the '99 draft (including Rip Hamilton and Steve Francis), but as far as completeness otherwise it has all the greats of the day. Featuring cover boy Tim Duncan and his team, maybe the best in the game, along with other great veteran players like Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, and Hakeem Olojuwan, and the young up and coming players of the day like Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, and Vince Carter. Some teams are stacked with talent like the Spurs and Lakers, while other teams have the fun, run-and-gun dunkers like Vince Carter and T-Mac of the Raptors. Even though this game is before the legendary '03 draft and even the awesome 2000 draft (that's a joke) the players in the game still provide a lot of fun highlights which you can revisit in game and at the end through the game's instant replay feature. Besides the in-game fun and action there are also good side features to the game like the 3-point contest where you can see whether Dale Ellis is better than Reggie Miller. And of course who could forget that this version of Live brings back the greatest ever. In a side game you can battle one-on-one with Michael Jordan, and if you win with a player from the actual game it will unlock Jordan for you to use during any game mode. With this you're able to reunite Pippen, Kukoc, Kerr, and Grant with MJ and battle with the Bulls or add Jordan to any of your favorite teams of the day or all time. I would have personally liked to see a few more legends with the ability to be unlocked in the version of the game, but you're already playing with so many like Jason Kidd and Kevin Garnett back in their younger and very athletic and exciting days. Without question there isn't any other n64 games on this site with more exciting sports game play or with better players. I could sit all day and play NBA Live 2000 with its ahead-of-its-time graphics and smooth and lag-free game play and the best rosters at the turn of the millennium. The game isn't particularly difficult which can make it both a fun and relaxing game while still being an exciting and action-packed sports game. All in all there are few games of the n64 era that could compete with this great game.
