Looking for treasure in the mountains and the sea   classgame
So back in the early days of The Learning Company the Super Solvers weren’t always the super solvers they were known as the Super Seekers but they still had the Master of Mischief   Gameplay and story: The Master of Mischief is being a troublemaker, Treasure Cove takes place after the events of Treasure Mountain (which is why they are paired together here) if you haven’t seen the events of Super Solvers Midnight Rescue, you would know the Master of Mischief has experience with magic. So in Treasure Mountain he breaks into the castle at the top of Treasure Mountain steals the crown, hides the treasures and cast a spell on the elves on the mountain making them naughty too, a butterfly will guide you with new player hints and will let you know how many more gems you need to rank up, and then at the end of that the Master of Mischief was chased off the mountain (albeit after the events of Treasure Mathstorm!) and ended up back at his island which looks pretty awful, and since he wanted to get back at the elves for chasing him off he destroys the rainbow bridge which scares off the shy pufferfish and the gems are hidden behind sea creatures, and zapped the orange starfish so they would only talk in riddles and if he wasn’t slimy enough he drilled holes in the ocean floor and out comes these creatures called Goobies, he also added these sharks to the ocean, and now we have to clean up another one of his messes and a minnow will guide you in this game...well at least when that space station fell into the Ocean in Operation Neptune this was no one’s fault, but in this day and age there would have been a further investigation over what went wrong  And now for gameplay, basically if we want to move faster we need to flip in the Treasure Mountain game, however nothing will change our speed in Cove as we go up and down and left and right and not much else we hit enter to locate certain items and we hit the space bar to trap the elves and starfish just, however Treasure Cove has clues to find the pufferfish, either way we have to solve riddles. Don’t let the Goobies touch your or the Elves use magic on you, you will lose some light and coins, luckily both games have a refill station, oh and you can catch elves and starfish that aren’t carrying scrolls or are orange too all you’ll get is an extra thing of coins or light  Graphics: Well in the original version the graphics look kind of bad however when The Learning Company had an upswing in 90s, they rereleased the games with better looking graphics here's before and afternow here's one for Treasure Mountain beforeand after  they did it to Mathstorm as well but I am working on it as of this review (I'm working on Outnumbered! and Treasure Galaxy as well) Soundtrack: Each area of the mountain and the cove has a different soundtrack and that also changes when you are climbing the ladders or sending rainbow gems back to the Elves, they actually use classical pieces for Treasure Mountain, but it fits theming though like I hear this and I think of Meadows (I’m surprised they didn’t do Beethoven’s 6th Symphony it would fit perfectly here) we actually do hear a bit of Hungarian Rhapsody number 9 (yeah I know the official title is Hungarian Rhapsody no 8 but I heard the Wishing Star song from Wakko’s Wish too) in the SeaStar circus  Addictive: So I didn’t play Treasure Mountain until 2009, however I first placed the enhanced version holy crap it’s 25 years ago this year, what am I going to do for a play-a-versary special? I know I’ll record it and hold it off on playing the final part until December (because that’s when I first played it, it would likely be between December 21st and 23rd because those are the only days I spent at the Children’s Clubhouse) I didn’t get to play the crappier version until 2009 and even then I never got to finish it for a long time (but I did otherwise I wouldn’t be doing this review)  Depth: So a couple years back I started playing it for morning gaming since I had completed Amazon Trail 3rd edition and needed something new, I did two playings per recording and if I did only one Treasure Mountain would have taken me a month, however Treasure Cove seems to be longer because before the magnet incident happened, I had uploaded part 15 of the playing (so I decided to start it over again this summer, mostly because when I had saved the content from my virtual machines it was back in March of 2021 and I had installed the games that summer) Treasure Cove actually offers a little more than Mountain does as the further we get in the game there will be more areas to collect gems or find starfish like for example there’s this cave sometimes we will find a gem sometimes we will find some kind of amusing scene, and there’s the seastar circus where will will find more starfish, and of course there is this weird stone fish that actually will have a gem waiting for you (oh and at the boss shark levels too, don’t touch them either those light beams are very valuable)  Difficulty: Obviously these games are meant for kids so this doesn’t frustrate me at all however the farther we go the more mischievous the elves will be and more frequent those goobies will be , however recently I found myself having difficulty balancing the amount of air bubbles and light beams I had. Post Review Follow up: Well I had better make sure I burn a copy of Treasure mathstorm because I know that got an enhanced copy as well but Treasure Galaxy didn’t (because I guess by this point they were concentrating on releasing trail games and the Cluefinders...I have started playing Outnumbered and I will eventually try Mission T.h.i.n.k. again. Well we’ll see, maybe for certain intervals after I finish with any Reader Rabbit games I play but likely not this year) I apologize for the two days of no reviews it's not writers block it's the fear of not being covered for this tour despite not bothering on sundays
