Guitar Hero 2 bobskin
Guitar hero 2 is the sequel to guitar hero the addictive music game with a awesome sound track. And now with a battle mode to face up to a friend or a rival
Advice
If you like the guitar then play the guitar. Don't spend pretty much the same amount of time it takes to learn basic chords and chord progression on a real guitar just, to beat "Lenard Skinard's" free bird on expert mode on a five button plastic toy. Trust me on this one if you were good at this game but never felt you could play real guitar give it another go. I've been playing a classical Spanish acoustic six string for 3 years plus and I can tell you, if play for just 10-20 minuets a day (everyday) and save a couple hours on your day off practicing the basic major and minor chords. 3 maybe 4 mouths you will be strumming along to some of your favorite tunes. Don't get me wrong i loved these games with a passion. I would play every day. But if i knew then what i know now i would have never played any of these games
Quick Review
Many people think this game is a glorified air guitar but never the less it very enjoyable game that will get the heart pumping and educate the player in music from days of yesteryear and newer tracks from the 90's and 00's ( it came out in 2006)
This is a very Difficult game as it very hard to unlock the last set of songs. It Will Take a lot of practice if your new to the franchise. But There are easer setting for all the songs
The game play has had not much of a change from he first one except slightly smoother compatibility with the guitar during hammers and pull offs.
Story is the same. Clime to the top of the music scene playing bigger venues with harder songs every 5 songs. There are different characters to choose from but it makes no difference witch one you pick. The same series of events unfold.
The track list witch is a big improvement on the first game as most songs are there originals not covers made for the game nut not as many blues tracks. This time there are a lot more modern tunes like" beast and the harlot" by Avenge Sevenfold and "life wasted" by Pearl Jam. Personally i prefer the songs on the first guitar hero. But having "sweet child of mine" by Guns n Roses is just awesome. I think having that song makes the game a whole lot more commercial because who hasn't at one point of time wanted to be Slash.
Graphically this game isn't much to shout about. I'm not a fan of the characters animation. They look Chunky and have the same facial expressions all the time. Its hard to believe the digital band are actually playing the same song you are. The camera angles are nice though. Like watching a big gig on t.v or DVD. Its a pity you cant play as a real rock star like in the later games.
I cant say that there is much depth to this game. It is very repetitive but that is sort of the point of the game. You react to whats on the screen. the reward is playing in time to the music.
Over all its a fantastic second helping of the most unique added hardware game of the 2000's.
I would also like to say that i feel think this game also showed the music industry that rock music still has a place in peoples hearts and helped found a platform for it when traditional media was more promoting a new breed of manufactured POP music with The X factor and other reality t.v projects.
