Dungeon Hunter Alliance Review by: zanderlex - 8.5/10
DungeonsA couple months ago, I saw this game at a gamestop, though I didn't think much of it because in my opinion, there were other games for the Vita there that were better, and I tossed this game to the side. After a couple hours of going over all of the games,I realized that I didn't really have the funds to get the games I wanted so I had to scramble to find a cheaper 4th game and in the end, this was the one that I chose. It turns out that I am actually quite happy with my choice to buy this game. I liked this game so much because it reminded me of Monster Hunter Freedom Units, which was my favorite game for the PSP. I ended up having a lot of fun with this game because of that and it was worth it.
GRAPHIC 8/10
For the graphics, I am going to give the game an 8 out of 10 because its not really the best when it comes to graphics, though it is really good for a handheld game. All characters and creatures come to life, but in a way, they look a bit weighed down because of the way the graphics work with the system.
SOUND 7/10
As for the sound, I would also say that it isn't at its best. There isn't really any music, the music is either very low unless you turn the volume all the way up, or its a variety of random notes that don't really work together to set up the mood. As for other sounds there isn't really much else, there are sounds when you strike something or when you get hit and during various other actions, bit the sound does not have a big impact on the game. My overall grade for sound will be 7 out of 10 and I will say that graphics and sound are the 2 least important aspects of the game because the rest is really what makes the game good.
ADDICTIVENESS 9/10
When it comes to addictiveness, there's a lot of it in this game. Forget about completing the same dungeon over and over, in this game you might end up completing the same floor of the same dungeon over and over again just so you can get more money, items, and experience. That is how addicting this game is, its the point where you can fight the same boss over and over 5 or 6 times and not get bored. If you are not just a standard gamer and you are actually a fan of the genre like me, then you might do that and then once you finish, you might start the game all over and do everything again. That is how addicting the game is, for this, I give the game a 9 out of 10.
STORY 8/10
The story of the game isn’t really much more than completing various quests that are randomly given to you and involve all sorts of different dungeons for you to explore. That’s really all there is to the story, I give it an 8 out of 10.
DEPTH 8/10
There is a lot of depth in this game. There are a ton of different dungeons and in total, there are more than 24 different levels for you to journey through and it’s a lot of fun. You can level up, customize yourself with all sorts of various items and fight. Even though you are limited in where you can go and what you can do, there’s still a ton that you can accomplish in this game and my grade is 8/10.
DIFFICULTY 6
The game is very easy. Sure, there will be a few bosses that will appear to be unbeatable the first time you fight them, but it’s not that hard, all you have to do is go back to places you have visited already and just keep on fighting so you can level up and get much better equipment. Even though it looks hard at the beginning, you just need to keep getting stronger and then it will be very easy. For difficulty, I will give the game a 6.
OVERALL 8.5/10
Overall, this was a great game and in my opinion is almost as good as the Monster Hunter games. This game is so much fun and I feel that you really need to try it out if you have not. My overall grade for this game is 8.5 out of 10.
