Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 mlb789
The Call of Duty series originally started out in a good way with a three game series that was not totally intertwined, but was more of a single player game. With the new games that have come out over the past 5 years, you have seen a trend to the multiplayer starting to form. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of those games that seems to rely heavily on a good multiplayer base, despite it having one of the best stories to date. Not only do you get the story, but the new mode called Special Ops added much needed depth to the Call of Duty series, and was a must do when competing with Treyarch for the best Call of Duty game (for those of you who do not know, Treyarch created Call of Duty World at War before this game, which introduced a new game mode, zombies, besides the basic story and multiplayer. World at War also had a cooperative game mode where you and a friend could play together on the same system, which is similar to Special Ops, but seems better in how you can play with up to four people online instead of two in Modern Warfare 2).
Graphics 6: Now, I have to be honest here, these graphics were not that good. They are a little hazy, and compared to Black Ops (even though it came a year later), the games were worlds apart in the graphics department, even though they were separated by only one year of publishing. The graphics look hazy whenever you play, which is a little annoying sometimes. Still, you can still enjoy this game without the graphics interfering with you game play.
Sound 8: I like how you have the ability to hear the players voices clearly in both the single player and multiplayer, while still being able to concentrate on other aspects of the game as well. I also like how they did the voices for the online mode(s), by taking the voices of in-game story mode characters and integrating them into the multiplayer part of the game. I also enjoy how they put a sense of urgency whenever a really powerful kill streak is activated by the enemy team (or, in few cases, your team), such as the Tactical Nuke, Chopper Gunner, or AC-130 rewards.
Addictiveness 10: This is one aspect of the game that can be easily disputed by how you play the game, if you have access to online services, or by your general like of First Person Shooters. If you don't have access to the online multiplayer, you are more likely to like games such as Uncharted or Assassins Creed other than this game, based on the fact that this game is made more on the Multiplayer side of things, other than the single player story mode. You should still be able to lose a couple hours at a time in this game, regardless of if you have access to online or not.
Story 9: The story in this game is VERY intense and always keeps you in the game. The beginning of the story is an interesting way for you to learn how to play, teaching the locals how to shoot and throw a frag grenade. Then, you get to enter "The Pit", where you receive your basic training by killing enemy targets- which are practice dummies- and avoiding civilians- which are also practice dummies- and seeing how fast you can run through the course. You then are bombarded by the enemy troops, which begins the "real" story mode part.
A few things about the story mode that you will notice is how hard it really is sometimes. I remember I had trouble at first on the first mission where you get bombarded by an RPG attack, then have to get inside quickly or else you die really fast. Also, you have to play through this horribly graphic mission (I think it is optional) where you watch Russian Ultranationalists kill innocent civilians. You do have the choice, though, to shoot or not, because in the end the mission ends in the same way. Not only does that happen, but the last few missions will really stick it to you in what happens, sort of like a kick in the head.
Depth 10: This game is really deep, even if you do not have an online connection. You can still have friends over and play the multiplayer mode, Special Ops mode, or just switch off on the campaign. There are a total of 23 Special Ops Missions, 18 Story Mode missions, and 16 basic multiplayer maps to play on or offline. You should have no problem putting at least a day into the game if you play offline, or countless days if you play online.
Difficulty 4: This game is a little more difficult than Black Ops, but that is probably because of the much longer story line and the Special Ops missions. It is really hard to get 3 stars on the highest difficulties in Special Ops, but it balances with the easier story line. Of course, if you play online multiplayer, you should probably see a decrease in your Call of Duty skills if this is your first online Call of Duty game, mainly because you will experience things that you have never experienced before offline (such as hackers and boosters that absolutely ruin your time online).
Overall 9.4: This game without the multiplayer is really a ten, because there is so much to do and so much fun to be had. You will have no problem with this game when you play offline.
Online, though, is a different story. Infinity Ward (the creator of the game) really left the game alone after Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 came out. They effectively left this game to die, ending the legacy of the second best Call of Duty game (Modern Warfare 1 is the first). I would recommend this game to anyone who has a remote interest in war, unless you want the real experience. In that case, you just might want to pick up Battlefield 1,2, and 3.

Warfare zanderlex
Even though I have played almost every Call of Duty game, I am not really a fan of this series. There are only 2 games that stick out to me and along with Black Ops, this is one of them. The only Call of Duty game that I have not yet played is Ghosts, which I do plan on playing. I play them because they are really fun to immerse yourself in, but I personally feel that there are games out there that are just a bit better. Of the games of this franchise, Modern Warfare 2 is my favorite because it's the game that I had spent the most time on and that I think looked the coolest.
The graphics were considered to be revolutionary for this game in comparison to the original Modern Warfare game because Infinity Ward, the games developer used a new engine that completely revamped the graphics and the motion graphics to make the game visually stunning. I give a 9 out of 10 for graphics.
Next will be the sound of the game which is just as good as any other war game. You can heat practically everything in the game, in addition to gunshots and explosions, you can hear anything from your heartbeat to the screams of a fallen comrade. In addition to that, you have the great music by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe. I personally love Zimmer because he does the music for most of Hollywood's biggest hits such as the recent Batman and Spider-man movies as well as Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, and Man of Steel. Therefore I'm pretty sure that most of you have seen one of the many movies he worked with and like the music. The soundtrack itself consists of 17 songs and is amazing. My grade for sound is a 10.
As for the story, I am going to say that it was good, but I feel it was too short and that it should have taken longer to beat. It could have just been me, beating the game quickly, but I feel it was too short. The overall story itself is good and and reaches its cinematic climax with the dual between Sheppard and Soap. For the story, I give this game an 8 out of 10.
As for the Addictiveness, the campaign is addicting bust most of the fun comes from multiplayer. Who doesn't love shooting other character that are controlled by real people and are not just some npc? Every time you play a multiplayer match, something new and unexpected takes place. Let's not forget about all those people who love to level up and brag about it, this game if for you. As for the addictiveness, I give this game a 9 out of 10.
The depth pretty much involves everything that I have mentioned in the last section. Aside for the campaign, which I still believe is too short, the game is so deep when you are in multiplayer mode. There are maps to choose from, weapons to choose from, there is almost nothing in this game that you couldn't do in another game. This means that if you can do it in a war game, you can do it here. For the depth, I also give a 9 out of 10
Next we are going to go over the difficulty of the game. It's a war game and involves shooting, throwing grenades, stabbing, and more, so the controls might be a bit tough to learn. Other than. That, the mechanics of the game are pretty simple and you can master them over time. As for a grade, I give it a 6.
For the overall feel of the game, I feel that this is one of the better games in the series and that it is both enjoyable and entertaining. If you have not played this game, or haven't played it in a while, go and play it now. For an overall grade, this game gets a 9.
