Halloween is of Pagan origin. But I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with trick-or-treating. It is highly likely that Halloween isn't celebrated the exact way the Druids celebrated it.

I believe that Mormons are Christians. I did some research once, and I have a friend who is Mormon. As it turned out, Mormons are not exactly as away from orthodox doctrine as those opposed to them say they are. Yes, they use four texts rather than just the Holy Bible, but the Book of Mormon is actually rather biblical, some of the verses coming straight from the bible. Mormons are said to be nontrinitarian, but I would think of their view of the trinity as "nontraditional trinitarianism". They still believe in three entities, unlike cults such as Jehovah's Witnesses and Christadelphians. They do have some weird views, but quite a few of them have been discarded from their practice (such as the Adam-God theory and polygamy). The ones that they still believe are frankly trivial; although believing God has a body like humans or that Hell is outer darkness rather than fire and brimstone is incorrect, those aren't necessarily beliefs that would subject someone to Hell. I think of Mormons the same way I do with Seventh-Day Adventists: although I wouldn't suggest those denominations, I think it is possible to be a Christian if you are a Mormon or Seventh-Day Adventist.

I believe that is it possible to like darker things and still be a Christian. I am strong in my faith, yet at the same time I like Silent Hill games and heavy metal (including extreme metal, specifically death metal and thrash metal). Neither of the two have effected the way I practice Christianity in any way.

My favorite genre is power metal, and my favorite band is Sonata Arctica.
