Have you ever been cyberbullied?

Yes, I have. I'm sure many people have.

No I haven't, and contrary to popular belief (jmc), not everybody who uses networking sites has been bullied. I hve neve personally had problems with bullying on the internet (most people wouldn't dare), but my cousn had problems with people bugging him online an even had to get help from the authorities since these kids wouldn't leave him alone.

Well, back in 8th grade when myspace was still the big thing, my former friend said some things to me that were not very nice and would be too nasty to put on here. I said something back - which did not even compare, he was called this as sort of a nickname by his other friends; he even used it for his myspace name - and he told his Mom on me. Yeah, not the nicest guy.

Apparently, when you act nice to everyone, others will eventually take offense. I have ONE bully from this site offsite, because he/she knows he/she can't get away with it here.

I dislike it immensly, but at least you can hide from it on the internet, it takes a click of the mouse and you can't hear them

septembern : Cyber bullied? Never heard of that...but it's pretty pathetic if you allow someone to bully you over the internet...no offense to those who have been "cyber bullied."
My advice...place them on permanent block.

Speaking as a dude in his mid thirties, I must express a bit of confusion here. You see, on my computer, every little window from the smallest IM to this very site, has a honkin' great big X on it. And if I press it, the window, and everything on it, goes poof! Not trying to be too sarcastic, I am just wondering if this is something real (and therefore real sad...) or if this is just one of those media "create a sensational problem for ratings!" things...you know, like Y2K or the idea Washington is relevant...

Nope, I never have been cyberbullied I never will cyberbully. I think it's really cruel and in school, the teachers set up a presentation about it and how a girl hung herself because of she was being cyberbullied. It really makes me sad to think that this is the result of cyberbulling, so I will never cyberbully. Cyberbullies are just idiots who are insecure and take it out on other people to make themselves feel better.

I have and it has caused me to just not make many friends online and from my experiments making less friends online is better.

I honestly don't care what you think of me. I'm pretty popular, but if I wasn't, I wouldn't really care what everybody thinks of me.

Never been cyber-bullied. It seems that most people who have been are ones that have been talking s*** to others online. Keep your mouth shut and you won't find a big group of people ganging up on you.

I'm sure some of you here have heard of the Jessie Slaughter incident a few months ago. The 11-year old girl talking mad s*** on that webcam site. It got a loooot of people's attention. They started harassing her. It wasn't too bad at first, but then 4chan got involved. Anyone who know anything about that site knows that once 4chan gets involved your life WILL become a living hell. And her dad went into epic rage mode. Here's a site that I saved (I knew it would come in handy some day) with videos of everything that happened. And a few remixes of her and her dad.

Sort of. When I was in high school, some idiot took my AIM and created another one but added an extra letter to the end (the last letter in mine was a T, so he added an extra T). He used that to try to imitate me. I'm not positive on how I found out it was him. I think he was bragging about it at school or something. Turns out, we both took karate at the same place. My parents went directly to him and told him they would report him to the karate instructors if he didn't stop. He stopped right away.

Turns out he had earned his Black Belt only a few months before. The karate place we go to always says that the only person they can't teach is a bully. He probably would have lost his Black Belt if we told them. He quit a year or two later anyway.

It's over now and people pretty much forgot, so I don't care as much anymore.

Honestly, in my generation we didn't have cyber-bullying. We had just gotten the internet and back then not everyone had it. It was too expensive. And I think parents were a lot more cautious when it first came out. So personally I never experienced this type of bullying.

Actually, yeah. Some morons on a metal forums kept telling me to kill myself, how much they hate me, hoped I would get killed by something, and just were saying tons of crap that was uncalled for. I didn't even do anything to them. I made a few screw-ups, but they did this for over a month.

Then I say I'm a Christian, which I was at the time. They decide to tell me to slit my wrists, and worship Satan. I actually saw how ugly one of the people who was treating me like this was, as well. He looked like the stereotypical metalhead.

Jessi Slaughter's dad sure helped me, too. This cyberbullying was going on at the time when that Jessi Slaughter bugger was fing up her life, and yay! Her dad f's up more crap, and they use that video to make more fun of me.

I was quite depressed, as usual, during all this. This crap going on, along with depression... I somehow wasn't attempting to hang myself.

Nope. Because I've only been to Vizzed and a couple of other sites where it is very unlikely to get cyber-bullied at all.

Yes, but I'm not sure if it is or not. I was friends with somebody, and I've had a history of threats, such as a throwing knife thrown next to me, having knives at my neck, and other stuff. So once I was on MSN, and I rickrolled that friend, and he started threatening me, he was gonna come over and attack me and then he said "I'm on my way there", and "Let's go". So I thought he was kidding, until I got a phone call from his grandmother saying he was at my house, but I wasn't there, because I was at a short distance away, at my grandparents. So she told me he was on his way, and he seemed really angry. So a few minutes later, I shown the chat log to my mom and grandparents, and they were mad, and then the doorbell rang, and he was there, my mom answered, and said "Is Alex there?" with an inquisitive grin on his face. So my mom asked him in to go get me, and then she called his parents, asking if they knew what he was doing, and she asked them to look over this MSN conversations, so they got really defensive, because the mother has a history of crimes for street racing, and we threatened to call the police, so we heard screams of "Get away from my baby", we were scared, because both people were talking on a cell phone, and we could hear it throughout the house. And then we went to their house, the mother was gone, so we then talked to the grandmother, who owns the house. And she admitted that they are both insane. So the mother came, and the grandmother said, you should hurry and go. And that ends that story, and that explains the danger of rickrolls and making friends in a mini home park.
