Its time for Electric type review!
Electric types, they're super effective against water and flying type, they're not very effective against fellow electric, grass, and dragon types, and ground type pokemon are the bane of the electric types existences.
Electric types, paralyzing is our middle name they said.
But paralyzing fools aren't even their strongest feature. The electric types are known for their high speed stats, which means, they have a high chance to strike first in a turn. Now, the combination between paralyzing and high speed is kinda... wasteful i'm gonna say. Why? Because paralyze is a status effects that makes a pokemon having a chance of unable to move AND it makes the paralyzed pokemon to always strikes last as long as the effect stays. With that being said, what's the point of paralyzing a pokes if you gonna strikes first anyway, and possibly kill it? I mean, it is super useful to paralyze a tanky pokemon to make them weaker and possibly kill them, but still, i think The Paralyze-Fast Speed combination isn't as strong as Burn-Powerful Attacks combo.
So yeah, that's kinda one less point for electric imo.
Electric got a long list of powerful Sp. Attacking pokemon. Even Vikkstar123 called his jolteon a 'glass cannon'. What's glass cannon you may ask? Well, it's a name you give to a pokemon that intended to one bang other pokemon, but guaranteed get one banged too, and the electric types are kinda like this. They're powerful in attacking and weak when it comes to taking shots, like even tho they always strike first, a tanky pokemon can possibly tank a hit and one bang the electric types which.
Sp. Attack and speed are the key factor for a good electric type pokemon, so I'll give you guys an advice to EV train you for those two stats. Now, is that all electric types can do? The answer is no. Paralyzing is one easy status effects to get from an electric type, like almost all of electric types have a move to paralyze the foe, and pikachu also have this special ability (i forgot the name) that makes a chance to give the opponent a chance to get paralyzed if they attack or took a hit from pikachu. Kinda op right? Now, as i said earlier, Speed-Paralyze aren't really that good of a combination, but this combo works really well if you're facing a tanky pokemon (like snorlax, steelix, shuckle, etc) so thats a plus side for the paralyzing thing, even tho tanky pokemon are usually slow but the chance for the pokemon for not being able to move is a great advantage if you're facing a tanky pokemon.
So, what's the best to do for a Electric type? First, they're great for the counter for water and flying types, especially if they're slower than your pokemon, you'll be able to one bang them. Second, even if they're normal against some types (0x attack multiplier), remember, they're some glass cannon so you have a chance to one bang those type of pokemons too. Third, they're great for paralyzing device, even tho they're likely to die if the opponent land the strike.
Here's my score for Electric type :
HP : 5/10
Attack : 7/10
Defense : 6/10
Sp. Attack : 9/10
Sp. Defense : 6/10
Speed : 9/10
Pokemon Designs : 7/10
