Well, as a former Flock, I might as well say something about this movie.

If all of you haven't heard, Angry Birds is releasing their own movie in theaters. If you don't know what Angry Birds are, it was one of the best games on iOS and Android and it had one of the most dominating fan-bases of 2010 & 2011 (The Flocks). I first heard about The Angry Birds Movie for the past few months and I was 50/50 on the whole movie because being a former Flock and all, plus I wasn't sure on how the movie will play out, then I later seen some of the trailers of the movie recently and I got to say, this movie is going to be an interesting movie at a point that it has got me interested to watching it in theaters when it's released (which would be the 3rd time I'll watch a movie in theaters, after The Simpsons Movie in 2007 and Pixels in 2015).

The Angry Birds Movie is planning on being released on May 20, 2016 in the United States & Canada.

The movie looks alright. My kids are way more excited about seeing it than I am. I don't know if I'll take them to see it or if we'll just watch it at home later. We just went to see Jungle Book and that is a movie worth seeing in the theater. I don't know if this one will be.

I'm in  the same boat as you IB. I'm really 50/50 about the whole thing. On one hand, it could an excellent family movie with good writing behind it. On the other hand, it could bomb just as easily. The trailers didn't wow me in any way, which isn't definitive, but doesn't give me a good impression either. On the bright side though, I really like some of the voice actors that are being used in the movie. To be honest, if it's anything other than a movie I'm absolutely dying to see, I'll wait a week and see what the reviews say before spending money. If I ever see this movie, it'll definitely be in 6 months or so on TV.

I predict it will bomb (pun intended) critically but be a success with moviegoers, primarily children. From the trailer, the movie looks like it's just a big setup for gags that may be funnier to those who have played the games. Crude humor seems to abound. But then again, I wasn't too optimistic about "The Lego Movie" and that was my favorite movie of 2014. It didn't just take the source material and set up weak gags to appeal to a target audience. It was legitimately funny, and had a fantastic message, to boot. I was dumbfounded by the end of the movie. I LOVED it. But I groaned when seeing "The Angry Birds Movie" trailer. Maybe it wasn't showing the best parts of the movie...I dunno. Crude humor is by definition, "unrefined". It isn't necessarily always bad. But it isn't particularly enjoyable, either. It's something you maybe laugh at, at first, but either find yourself feeling guilty about later or not enjoying later on. I've enjoyed things, but I want more. I want fresh, new things that push boundaries. I don't want "humor" that I completely expect. That's what made "The LEGO Movie" so refreshing. It was fresh, unique, and exaggerated certain things to poke fun at society and even LEGO culture itself. But even that has grown stale in time. Even my favorite games grow stale when I don't find new or better ways to play them.

I see the trailers all the time and I think it looks hilarious and that it might be on par with most recent animated films in terms of how many people like it.

I won't see it in theaters because I rarely do for animated movies (Only saw 5 animated movies ever in theaters) but I'll probablt see it eventually because it does look pretty funny.

I want to see this - no idea what his name is, but the red guy looks hilarious. Kind of seems like sarcastic humour, which is surprising for a kid's movie. I'm probably putting expectations on it so hopefully it doesn't disappoint, haha.

I honestly think it is kind of crazy that a IOS app got it's own movie.....I mean seriously....it's an IOS app.

18mlivingston : Yeah, it is the first game-based movie that came from a mobile app. Well, the game started in 2009, but it's popularity didn't started until 2010 when the Flock fan-base spread like wildfire, with this, it made it one of the top mobile games in history, and even enough to get Hollywood noticed, and decided to make a movie.

So, the Flocks made this game skyrocket it's popularity at a point that a movie will be made.

I might end up seeing this actually, not because i want to but because i feel like going to the movies and this is currently the best choice lol.

I have watched the movie in theaters a little bit ago, and I got to say, out of the 3 movies I've seen in theaters, this one is the best one out of them all. Well, there's a saying, "3rd time is the charm" and it's true right here.

The storyline is quite fantastic, the music is great and I just like the theme it went, on par with the games (something very rare you see on game-based movies, because they normally be completely off-topic).

Tell you the truth, Red basically has the same personality as me in a way lol.
