For the first 16 or so years, we had a simple set up for how the EXP share works, you would give it to a Pokemon to hold and that Pokemon would gain exp after every battle. That concept was flipped over starting with generation 6 because now as long as you have the EXP Share in your bag, ALL of the Pokemon in your party will get exp.

I think it's an easy way to grind levels for all your Pokemon at once, but don't you think that makes it a bit too easy? It's let's us level up all our Pokemon at once so isn't that too much of an advantage to some? Especially when you compare it to the old system.

Yes I think it makes the game incredibly easy, why did they even change it in the first place? I mean I would prefer if it was a held item that gives EXP to the holder like the older games rather than making it work for everyone. It makes it so you can just go through the game with one Pokémon yet still have a team the same strength and that's just broken.

I think it's only unfair in Gen 6 due to how easy it is to get and not so much the mechanic.

It worked similar in Gen 1 with the EXP All. However in Gen 1, you had to go out of your way as well as catch 50 Pokémon to obtain said item. Personally, if they made it more difficult to get in Gen 6, then it wouldn't be so bad(still I prefer how it used to be with only one Pokémon getting experience). But since it's just handed to you(pretty early in the story might I ad) then it makes an already easy game even more easier.

So basically I don't mind the change that much(would prefer the change didn't happen) however it would have been nice if it were more of a challenge to obtain, as well as having it be obtainable more later in the game. That way your team isn't that powerful but you are still able to train up for the Elite Four easier.
