So, for a long time apparently, there has been an issue with a small percentage of us that try to configure the key bindings for VBA in the RGR. Since there's no real fix for it at this time, that leaves us with mednafen, which also runs poorly for some of us. Well, it turns out that you can get around having to configure with the RGR by editing the values in the VBA config file. Pressing the Windows key and R at the same time to open the Run window and typing in "C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPlugin" will bring you to a hidden folder containing all your data for the RGR plugin.

From here, click the folder "User-[number here]", then the VBA folder and open the vba config file with Notepad and scroll down until you find a series of lines starting with "Joy0".

These are your key bindings. Each number at the end of each line represents a key. Below is a complete list of  values and the keys that are associated with them.

After changing the values, click the File tab and click save and exit. If you did it right, upon opening the emulator, the
controls should be pre configured to your preferences. If you're wanting to use a controller, you're best off using Xpadder, which can be downloaded from the below link.

UPDATE: The above method has been confirmed to work with Windows 7 and 10. Does not apply to XP, Vista and 8 are unconfirmed.

I noticed that you all made threads on this topic, so maybe this will help. If it works, be sure to thank pokemon x here on Vizzed. He did most of the work.

thehedgehogsonic : Do you think you could screenshot each step? It would help us figure out where you went wrong.

thehedgehogsonic : An easier method to take screenshots would be to use the Snipping Tool, if you have it. Open the start menu and type Snipping Tool to see if anything comes up. If it's there, take snips, save as and post. We can do this via PM if you like.

pokemon x : prtsc may not be obvious on all keyboards. For mine, I have to hold the function key and press END on the numpad.

thehedgehogsonic : The configuration in your picture are the default controls. I'm assuming that you're not wanting to use the arrow keys for movement and Z, X, A, S, SHIFT and ENTER for A, B, L, R, Select and Start. If you prefer, you could let me know how you want it configured and I can take a pic of the values you need.
