Heya guys! I'mma back from traveling... until March, that is. *groaning and incoherent yelling in the distance* We, my family and I, actually came back three days ago, but since the new semester started not too long ago... yeah. Anyways, I'm still glad I'm back for a month and oh ho ho ho ho, boy. This is going to be a long thread. Hopefully, I won't get in trouble with this! Now then, where to begin? It feels like a year went by or something, since a few things changed around here in my absence. A lot of sad changes, but I won't drive into that. In order to make this organized and not have myself jump around too much, I'm going to label each trip. There were three trips in total, in this order; West Sacramento (CA), Phoenix (AZ), Glendale/Burbank (CA). Without further ado, let us begin! West Sacramento, CA (Jan 4 – 6, 2016) We left our home at 8 in the morning. It was overcast from where we were to when we arrived at our hotel. The hotel was very nice, like extremely, overwhelmingly nice! It was an Embassy Suites, right next the Tower Bridge. I wish I took pictures of it inside and out, but they would of ended up blurry 'cause we were always moving. Sorry for that! Here's what the inside would look like in words: - There was a glass ceiling above us that showed the sky. - There were-- and I'm only assuming this from the elevator buttons-- about 7 to 8 floors, not counting the roof or basement if they even had one. - 4 huge fountains that had a waterfall feature. - Tons of couches were spread out neatly against the fountains to lounge upon. - 2 dinning areas-- one that was meant for a formal party and the other for casual eating. - The area felt like a tropical Amazon forest with all the plants and clear waters. As well as, the gold interior style furniture with velvet upholstery and carpet. We stayed in a decently sized suite with an astonishing view of the Tower Bridge, and the river running underneath it. Our room was very cozy, as well as our beds. When we were done unpacking, we went out to eat at Hing's Restaurant. Let me tell ya, if you ever go to West Sacramento, go to Hing's Restaurant! It's Chinese cuisine, and they give you a ton of food too! My family slept peacefully except for me, since it's hard to get comfortable in a new bed and environment. The next day, it rained which I absolutely loved-- to be honest! I took a few pictures afterwards and it came out great! We just stayed inside our room the entire time, and waited for my dad to come back from work. He brought some fast food for us and we ate as we sat and talked about life. The third, and sadly final day, my dad got a call saying they were done with whatever they were doing. So we packed up and left to go home for about 3 days. However, as we were packing one of our car's doors didn't work. It couldn't do anything-- even unlocking itself. Once we got home, my parents took it in to get it fixed for the remainder of our 3 days. Phoenix, AZ (Jan 10 – 17, 2016) We left pretty early in the morning. All I know is that the sun wasn't up, as I was on the verge of falling a - Road's too bumpy for me to sketch. - Landscape's too barren to look outside my window. Plus, there's abandoned homes everywhere! - Reading or writing in the car gives me a headache and will result into car sickness. - Not allowed to use cellular data and no WiFi. So, all I did was Glendale/Burbank, CA (Jan 24 – 28, 2016) Okay, now it's going to get exciting, again! Since the last one was dull and boring, so. Anyways, the drive was very peaceful! Beautiful, forest-y drive, even though I've seen it a hundred times. Still a whole lot better than looking at a dessert and abandoned homes. It was an extremely nice breath of fresh air! And for the first time since that week in AZ, I saw trees. Tall, beautiful, vibrant trees which brought a tear to one of my eyes. The other was busying trying to capture the glorious landscape as seen before me. It took about an hour and a half to get there. The sun was still up as the clouds in the sky looked big and fluffy. It was not scorching hot like-- okay, I'm sorry, but I really do not like Arizona. Just needed to say that and get it off my chest. I won't turn this post into a rant about a state, so don't worry. Continuing forward, we got to our room. Let me warn you, if you're going to stay at the Hilton that is next to the freeway and the company Nestle-- please bring a portable stove, some dishes and utensils, and a cooler. There was only a coffee maker in our room. A freaking, rip-off coffee maker in our small, bare room... with the most “immaculate” view of their garbage dump. Oh, with the exception of a window seat, might I add. I was not expecting that, since I've heard only good things about LA. Apparently, I've somehow managed to avoided the negative feedback of Los Angeles. Wonderful. The day got better though, because we found a restaurant we love so much; Kabuki. The menu's pricey but their food's worth it! If you happen to go there, I'd recommend their Spicy Seafood Udon Pasta! So good! Anyways, we met up with some of our relatives. Hung out, watch my cousin play basket ball at his school and win! Got some Armenian tea and snacks from a few stores. Had some ice cream late at night, and stayed up drawing on my tablet. Was a lot of fun! On Thursday (28th of Jan), my dad told us that they finished early and had to return home. I felt sad because I was starting to like it there. So we headed back, and now we're in the present. Short Version: Went to three different areas for a whole month, had some fun, ate a lot of food, and came back home. I think next time I'm just going to keep a journal with me. Remembering all this stuff put a strain on my brain as I tried my best to recall those recent memories in such painstaking detail. While juggling drawing and school work. Anyways, picture time! For some reason, I can't Now then, where to begin? Wow, quite a trip. Also, I'm suprised you consider Phoenix barren. When I drove to the Grand Canyon I was waiting for Sahara-like conditions, i.e. only sand. I was suprised to see "so much" vegetation in such an arid place. Anyway welcome back, and I hope you enjoy your time here once again!
