I bought Dante's Inferno today for the XBox 360 (today is it's release date) and I'm in love already... but it sucks that I get home from class and play it for an hour and then I have to go to work haha..

I guess one reason that I really love this game is because I'm currently in a Literature class at school based around Dante Alighieri's works (The Inferno mostly, but also Vita Nuova, Purgatorio, and Paradiso) so I recognize all of the people who are considered the famous of "the damned"... King Minos, Cleopatra, Odysseus, etc. haha

Have you guys played it? If so, what're your opinions, or if not, do you plan on trying it?

It's only released for the XBox 360, Playstation 3, and PSP... And now that I'm home from work I have some homework to finish before I can keep playing

Ironically enough, the homework is answering questions about Dante's Inferno for a quiz tomorrow haha... (Expecting some snow so hopefully I won't have class tomorrow anyway)

Amazing coincidence! I got interested in the poem a week or two ago, and thought that the many levels of hell sounded like a video game, kind of like Castlevania, and I thought it would be cool to make a video game of it... and mere minutes later I found out that there already was to be one! The game is a lot like the God of War series... it has SEVERAL similarities..

The story isn't EXACTLY like the book... in the game Dante is fighting in the Crusades and is told by the warriors' priest that all of the warriors shall be absolved of their sins, so he feels no problem with sleeping with other women... When he returns he finds that his wife Beatrice has been murdered and Lucifer is making her his personal slave, and it's your responsibility to get her back

The levels play out a lot like the book, and a lot of people mentioned in the book make an appearance (whether as bosses or souls you may choose to punish or absolve)

It's metascore is pretty low (74 the last time I looked) but it's WAY better than that

Yes indeed i love this game especially on an LED TV it just looks amazing and its so much fun to go around killing demons. i actually sat there and read the whole poem and its prettty cool.
