I actually really enjoy creepypastas. I think the first one I can remember hearing about for sure was the Russian Sleep Experiment. I could tell it was fake after a while but it was still interesting enough that I listened to the entire thing.

After that I checked out a bunch of other ones. Most of them have a moment where you go "There is no way that is true" but regardless they are still generally pretty creepy if you let yourself get into the moment.

geeogree :
I knew about the Russian Sleeping Experiment  which seems 100% true but others like Ben drowned and Jeff the Killer are 60% legit I think so

Wolffrey : there is 1 part in it that goes too far and I think it is the part where the guy has no intestines or something but is still alive. You can't survive for long without intestines

Still, it is by far the more believable than many of the other ones I have heard since.

Honestly, I find it more amusing than anything else when Creepypastas try to go full-on scare mode like Jeff the Killer or Laughing Jack. There's no common sense in the majority of them, and if there's a main character looking in who isn't the crazed, insane killer (Tom in Sonic.exe, to provide an excellent example, or the college blogger in Blood Whistle), that character is normally overly melodramatic, lacking in common sense, and just overall dumb. Hacked game is making you uncomfortable? Stop! Person starting to haunt you or something? Get help instead of sitting around and waiting to die! (and yes, this means I don't even like the more popular ones like Ben Drowned (I only respect this Creepypasta for its very believable footage) or Tails Doll (I HATE THIS ONE))

On the other hand, the Creepypastas that stay in line with being creepy and nothing more genuinely interest me. The creepy theories in specific are something that I like reading.

My favorite Creepypasta, just because of its amusement level, has to be Blood Whistle. It's everything wrong with most bad Creepypastas, wrapped into one excessively long, blog-format story about a hack called SMB3:BW. My only warning is that you WILL lose brain cells reading that story. Think Sonic.exe, but more insufferable.

I liked a few Creepypastas, like the Rake and The Holder Series is fairly interesting too, but there are so many bad ones and rip-offs.
