Yup, I got woken up a few minutes ago by the loud crash of my daughter climbing out of her crib and crashing down to the floor.

Thankfully she is okay.... no broken bones.... minor bruising. Took a fair while to calm her down but she is acting as normal as ever now. Such a relief.

Still, not a fun way to wake up in the morning.

And strange enough.... my wife and I didn't even speak to each other when we woke up. We both immediately seemed to know what had happened and rushed into our daughters room together. I guess neither of us could come up with any other explanation for the loud crash and the crying baby than that .

Puppies are indestructible. They can eat glass, broken CDs, undetonated dynamite, whatever, and still live. I'm pretty sure they'd be able to survive a fall ;-)

But yeah, good news about your daughter surviving that. Sounds like you need to get a bigger/better crib.

the crib is big enough.... we just need to put the crib at the lowest setting.... it can drop another 2 inches or so which should hopefully hold her in.

And we're also hoping that she doesn't try climbing out again because of what happened today.... but you never know. Sometimes kids are just stubborn and insist on climbing.

Wow, that's one heck of a way to wake up in the morning. It's good to know that Gabby's alright though. That reminds me of something I did...

Back in '98, I was 2. It was the dead of night. I wanted to get out of my crib, so I climbed, and climbed. I was nearly tall enough, but not quite. After a while of trying, I was able to get out. I landed, and went into my brother's room, where I climbed up onto the high bunk (because that's where he slept) of his bed. I sat where his feet weren't. I just sat there. Then, my mom came, picked me up, took me back to my crib.

Yes, I actually remember this.

a trampoline floor? uhm... wouldn't that just cause more bouncing?

Or, you could just be slightly more prepared than I was and lower the crib before they climb out and fall

...or you could hang your daughter from the ceiling with a harness and bungee cords like they have at fairs. Then not only is she secure and comfy, if she gets bored in the middle of the night she has entertainment that can rock her to sleep! :p

I know i'm a little late but, I'm so glad she's ok. That's a scary moment, it could have been a lot worse.

when I was two-ish I split my eye open running around in the middle of the night. I had snuck out of my crib, and was running to my mom's room, and I must have took a wrong turn or something, but I hit this hospital bed (you know, the adjustable ones? I have no clue why, nor where it came from, but it was in my living room) with my head, about a quarter of an inch above my eye. Next thing I knew there was blood gushing out of what I thought was my eye and started freaking out!

whats worse is when I was in the hospital getting stitches, I thought the doctor was trying to poke my eye out with the needle. They had to strap me down from head to toe to keep me from moving. That doesn't mean I wasn't screaming bloody murder. My mom says I scared all the kids in the waiting room lol. I remember telling everybody that noticed my scar 'Doctor did it' when they asked me about it XD

Wow, that's really scary. Once I woke up eating my hand, thinking it was pizza crust a couple years back, and I woke up on the floor. The hilarious, um, I mean sad thing was, we had mice. Not my best day XD
