This is a nice topic to see who's on the inside and who's not worth talking to.

I read "At the Mountains of Madness" and I loved every second of it.  The imagery and the sense of claustrophobia were awesome.  The movie The Thing makes me think of Mountains and what it would be like to be so cut off from the entire world.

That last part, I imagine the co-pilot, Dorne or whatever his name was... or did they fly a Dornier?  Whatever.  That dude glances out the window, sees an alternate universe and all that is evil and literally claws his eyes out and flings himself from the plane.

He didn't do that in the book but that's how I imagine it went.  He saw something humans weren't supposed to see and he ended himself.

Awesome.

The best part in the fiction of HPL always was that he never really described the monsters other than "something no human mind should ever see". Ones own imagination comes up with the worst of the worst like that

One of the funniest things I've noticed is how the basic synopsis for the end of The Call of Cthulhu is
Spoiler:
The boat was all "RAMMING SPEED" and Cthulhu exploded or something? I'm really confused by that, maybe I misread it, but it seemed like Cthulhu popped like a whale, and was like "Sometimes, you have to look inside yourself and ask, 'What am I prepared to deal with today? Not this.'" and then just gave up.
