I have a feeling I'm going to want to post about my life a lot here once again, so I decided this time I'll do what thing1 did and make a blog thread. Even if I don't get responses, I'll feel better. It's amazing what typing to a computer screen can do for me XD

First, I'd like to apologize for once again being quiet here and not talking to people much. I've really wanted to play games, and I think I'll still do that, but talk to people more still.

It's the end of my first year in high school, so the roughness of my life really escalated in the past couple weeks, one reason why I've been more quiet here and got my mind off life by playing games. Plus family issues and issues with people I know...

When I was 6 years old, my family adopted my sister. I'm not adopted, but my sister is, and several years later my brother was adopted as well. My sister and I used to be the best of friends. We'd try to do almost everything together, and we were both very loyal to each other. Life was awesome and I was a happy-go-lucky person who just enjoyed life and made every day very productive!

Then something happened a couple years later that would create separation between us, which still exists today. My sister lied about me just for the sake of attention. She told one of her friends that I hated her (my sister, not the friend). I was friends with that person as well, so I lost a friend just for that. Just so she could get more attention. That marked the beginning of our intense sibling rivalry. I held a humongous grudge against her for over 5 years. Last year was when I got mature and started to let go of the grudge. My grudge against her is pretty much gone now, but we're still not OK.

A few years ago, she started doing a lot more things just for attention. She didn't care what type of attention, as long as she got it. She's been getting into long, pointless arguments, stealing our belongings, bringing them to school, getting detentions, hanging out with the wrong people, and lying. There's more I think, but that's enough examples.

We can't trust her anymore. Every time we do, she gets away with something terrible.

She does whatever she wants, whenever she wants, however she wants, all the time. She's nice, sweet and innocent until we start telling her what to do. Once any of us tell her what to do, she does whatever she can to get out of it. She even tries completely skipping her breathing treatments for her lung condition (Cystic Fibrosis). Her lung quality is going down and she keeps getting worse with most everything else. She just doesn't care, no matter what we say, how much we say it, or how we punish her.

She has a disorder that causes her to be defiant, but it's become clear to us that she's making no effort to control it. I had shyness so bad I couldn't even talk to girls, but since I tried to control it, I prefer talking to them now and it's easy. (mainly because most of the guys I know are people I shouldn't talk to...).

Because of all this, our family unit has slowly broken apart. Now I barely have any time to talk to my parents besides when I'm supposed to be in bed or supposed to be doing schoolwork (I can text them), and they're sometimes a lot less patient with me and not understanding of my needs.

I've been holding out far too long. Tonight I'm attempting to have a family meeting. I don't mind if my sister is there with my parents and I, and it might actually be better for her to. I feel left out and it's not just my sister I've been more separated from. It's my parents too because I can't spend much time with them. I need to tell them how badly this is hurting me, how important it is that my sister knows that too, and much more.

I've been trying to be really nice to her to see if that helps, but it's not making difference in her behavior. I'm still going to try though.

Please pray for our family. I've been praying about it and it's slowly giving me more hope.

Your sister sounds a lot like my brother.  The thing is, things have gotten better here.  He's still selfish from time to time and complains, but over the past few weeks, our relationship has grown exponentially.  Family unity has increased.  Problems have gone down.  And bro and I are on a fast track to becoming best friends, or so it seems.  It really helps to see the good in every situation.  There is always a bit of light in everything.  Your sister may be selfish, but I would go so far as to say there is still light inside her.  Appeal to that, if you can.  You may not be able to do it through words.  Sometimes you'll have to give in and give up some of your own desires in order for the light to shine through.  It can be really hard at times.  My brother sometimes hides a game console so he doesn't get caught and punished.  He seemed to blatantly lie to me this morning.  But I know that if so, it was because of his insecurities, and not because he hates me.  Sometimes we may see hate where there is none, or judge someone to be less than what they are.  I have done that time and time again in my family.  And it has frankly not worked.

Be careful in this situation.  I'm not saying that your sister isn't selfish.  But be careful that blame is not the first thing in your relationship.  She may lie, cheat, steal and do more, but there has to be compromise from you.  You often have to be willing to give things up for her sake.  In time, this will become easier and more worthwhile.

I'm so sorry to hear about this :. I hope the family meeting goes/went well! It's unfortunate that your friendship with your sister went downhill, especially when you consider how close you guys were before that .

I hope the issues you mentioned get solved soon! I think you're dealing with it a lot better than I would - you wouldn't be able to imagine how sour I'd get if my sister acted like that! How's brother taking all this?

Good luck on fixing things between you, your sister, and your parents! I'm sure everything will be ok !

supernerd117 : I've been trying to make sure that I don't immediately blame her, and instead search for all the clues and/or ask other people about things before I check if it's her. Besides, that's my parents' job. Don't worry, I'm trying to handle this the way God would want me to.

She's really nice and sweet whenever we are and she isn't causing trouble, so it's easy to be close like we were before. I'd just like it to be that way all the time, and so would my parents.

NintendoFanKimmy : I appreciate your prayers too, and the good luck wish! It's OK, and it's a trial I have to face on a daily basis so I'm used to it. My brother doesn't know all about this since he's too young to understand and we don't want to talk to him about it.

I had my family meeting the other day. It was just me, my parents (and my dogs joined us ) but we left the door open so my sister could hear us. We're hoping she did and that she's thinking about it. We keep praying and trying harder, so I'm confident our situation will be resolved eventually. If not, there's a point that we'll move out of the house (when we graduate from high school), so my parents won't have to deal with it for a really long time.

Counting this week, there's only 3 weeks left of school. My state exams are finished (wow, there were a lot!), so everyone is slightly relieved. It's the first year of this new system of exams, so the exams were very difficult and some of the material we hadn't even covered yet. (So they were actually unfair, except for the English ones) It's high school, so we don't get breaks or anything like that, we just keep going. Now that we're done with exams, we have to push through the rest of the things we have to cover.

Then, during the last week of school, we have more exams, but this time the exams for all of our classes. There are some exam exemptions, but I don't meet the requirements, so I have to take all 5 exams during that week. After that, school's over and I start my really fun and busy summer!

June 3rd, 5:02 P.M. (time of post submission)

First, I was wrong in my previous post about exam exemptions. I'm exempt from 3 exams, but I'm taking 2 of them anyway. I had no idea about my Algebra exemption until after I took the exam today so that one was quite a surprise. I'm glad I took it anyway because it'll boost my grade, and it already went up to an A before the exam! I've been trying hard to get the best GPA I can in high school.

I was also exempt from my leadership class exam, and I'm exempt from tomorrow's Intro to Chemistry exam. I might also be exempt from my Art exam, but like the Algebra one, I have no idea. I'll take it either way because I want to boost my grade so that I'll get an A, and then I'll have all A's for the first time since elementary school! That'll really help to boost my GPA

Also, tomorrow is my last day of 9th grade/freshman year. I'm very excited for this rough year to be over, and I have a lot of plans for the summer for once! I'm also excited for next school year, but I can definitely be patient for that to come XD

July 6th, 5:27 P.M. (time of post submission)

Today was the first time I showed my 7-year-old brother a lot about Mario, and he loves it. He mostly thinks it's funny XD My bedroom is painted with Mario characters, so my mom said my brother will probably have my room when I move out.

I was wrong about my grades. Instead of getting all A's, I got 4 A's and one B. The B was in Art, which I thought would have a grade boost if I took the exam, but I was wrong. I got a B on the exam so my grade stayed a B... oh well. I'm happy with what I got with my grades, because I haven't done this well in school in a long time.

July 8th, 2015 4:56 P.M. (time of post submission)

Starting tonight at 6:15, I'm helping out with kids again. This time I'm not going to Chicago or any other far away place, but I'm working with my youth group again. They're holding a VBS (vacation bible school) every Wednesday of July, not counting last week. It's an hour-and-a-half long each night, and they're doing their own version of Nick at Nite (messy games, greaaaaaat ).

My best friend is doing this too, since she's wanted to be a part of my youth group ever since the Chicago mission trip a couple weeks ago. I was going to invite another one of my friends to do this as well, but he got laryngitis (which means he lost his voice entirely) last week and he might not be back to normal by now, so I didn't want to risk it.

I'm so excited!

July 21st, 2015 8:45 P.M. (time of post submission)

My friend's voice is back to normal now, and he doesn't have a cold anymore. (He had a cold after his laryngitis ) Now I can hang out with him regularly again.

Speaking of me and my friends hanging out, tonight my dad revealed to me some HUGE news. One of my other friends, who I haven't seen in quite a while, can hang out with me for the whole weekend this week!! I'm going over to his house to hang out for the first time ever and we will most likely be going to a lot of interesting places, such as a water park.

I'm very happy and grateful for this since I rarely see him and he's so busy! This weekend will be another part of the summer to remember for a long time!

August 7th, 2015 9:30 A.M. (time of post submission)

After today I'm hopefully going to start taking things way more seriously. I start school in a little over 2 weeks, and I have to study tons of Spanish for Spanish 3 this year. It's an honors class, so I have to know a lot of what I learned previously, and since I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade and Spanish 2 in 9th grade, I'm taking it a year early. This is going to be quite interesting.

I've had dreams about school a few times this summer, and now I know I'm looking forward to it. At the same time, I don't want my summer vacation to end so soon. XD

I plan to make this school year even more productive and life-changing than last year. I also plan to be more social, such as saying "Hi, everyone!" when I walk into my classes. I'll be on the Yearbook team, so I'll have a lot more to do! Being on the Yearbook team is one reason I'm glad I got my Screenshot Adder role on vizzed. I might have a similar role on the Yearbook team as I do here! Because of that, I'm hoping to keep going with my staff role (at full throttle ) even during the busy school year. Even if I'm too busy to be here on the weekdays, I should have most of the weekends

One of the main things I'm looking forward to about this school year so far is finding out what my classes are. My mom (or dad, if she unexpectedly has to work that day) and I will be going to the school on the 14th to pick up my schedule. Like last year, I'll ask my friends about their classes and see in advance if I'm in any of their classes. At least one of my friends will be in the Yearbook team, so there's one class I know right off the bat I'll have a friend in.

As sad as I am about summer vacation ending, I'm excited for this school year! It'll be quite a ride!
