Ok guys, this is my FIRST every review on Vi zed! Please post below, telling what you liked about it and what I could improve on. Anyway, lets get started. Today, we'll be talking about the infamous fighting game, Super Smash Bros. for the N64! GRAPHICS: 8 The graphics was acceptable during the era the game was released in, however, the animations of fighters were not really pleasing to the eye. For example, Captain Falcon's "FALCON PUNCH!" had some fire effects, but, it did not look realistic. I was nice enough to not rate it TOO low because this game was released in 1999. Consumers of that time must have been amazed of the 3-D dimensional aspects that the Nintendo 64 hardware could produce, such as open-worlds filled with interact able NPCs. On the downside, Nintendo 64 had its own technical limitations. Comparing the graphics of the game to games of today, is simply unfair. So I rated it an 8. SOUND: 9 The sound was very good, but when smashing sometimes it is not a magnificent thing to your ear. When fighting, the noises and sound effects can irritate you at times in my humble opinion. How does it compare to other sounds in different titles? The effects of Super Mario 64 was kind of better then those in this title. I just feel that some sounds in Smash Bros. 64 just do not fit well in a fighting game. Those are some negatives in the sound effects; overall, the music in the game itself was phenomenal! It brought back songs and more from classic Nintendo franchises such as the popular Mario theme that plays in the Mushroom Kingdom stage, to The Legend of Zelda theme located in Hyrule Castle. It was as if there was a "Link" (Get it? Link? Like different games being connected, and Link from The Legend of Zelda? *sighs* Ok...no more bad jokes...) between all these different games, being all brought together to FIGHT. ADDICTIVENESS: 10 Now, you may think that I rated this TOO high...but the truth is: it deserves this score. Let me explain. I could play this game until the day I DIE (Wait, actually not really because I need to eat, sleep, and all...lets not get TOO realistic here...you get what I mean)! Why! Because of the enhanced gameplay, a plethora amount of characters available in the roster, and endless possibilities of combos. It's even better in multiplayer (Well, not really because this was made as a competitive party game, so it COULD tear you and your friend's friendship apart.) because the game is up to 4 PLAYERS. As you win a round against your exasperated best friend, it CAN be a good experience... DEPTH: 7 This game has ALOT to offer. There is hundreds of collectibles such as trophies and music. The game is BIG, jam-packed with some secret characters that can be unlocked with specific tasks. But other than that, that is pretty much it! DIFFICULTY:5 The game can be difficult at times. Learning the controls may take awhile because they are so complex. This fighting game is not like others like Mortal Combat or Street Fighter which only had the A and B button. This game had a lot of characters, each with their own unique set of moves, and advantages and weaknesses. As a beginner myself, it took 3 months to learn the moves, controls, and techniques experts use. You can learn some basic controls from the tutorial which can be accessed via the main menu. OVERALL: 9.9 So close right? SO close to a perfect score, 10. I chose 9.9 because the graphics and sound really brought it down (By just 0.1 which does not really matter XD) Overall, this game is both for casual and experts. Don't worry angry parent mobs, there is NO blood. Overall, this game is a game that is worth trying. It may not look interesting at first, but don't judge a book by its cover!
