Super Smash Brothers. If you haven't heard this title before, you've been missing out. This is my totally biased review on (in my opinion) one of the greatest games to ever hit a home console. Back in the days of the N64, Nintendo was booming with games. The Legend of Zelda, Mario, but nobody ever expected this Street Fighter meets Mortal Combat game, featuring all the iconic Nintendo characters.

Super Smash Bros. is a fast paced 2D fighting game with decent Mario 64 style graphics (Rough yet clean), and catchy soundtracks. I preferably choose Samus, as she is my favorite, yet there are many options. Each character comes packed with their own unique and special abilities. Your play style depends on the character you choose. Some are highly defensive and take a beating, while others are mostly offensive. Some are quick and some are slow. The object of the game is to deal damage to your opponents. The more damage a character takes, the higher their 'damage counter' rises. Once their counter hits above 100%, that character can then be launched off the stage, the launcher receiving a point. The more launches a person gets, the fewer they take, decides the winner of each match.

While this game lacks story, it also isn't the type of game to carry a story. Being a fighting game, the replay value is in the rematches. Trying out all the characters and finding your match.

There are 4 Smash games in all, and although the first isn't my favorite, it is sure up there with my favorite Nintendo games of all time. I give this game a 9.7 for its full replay value. The only reason I wouldn't return to this game is if I was delving into its improved sequels. This game is classic, and any Nintendo fan should definitely pick up the controller and give this game a try. I'm sure you'll find something likable within it.

This is a decent review. If I had one bit if advice though, I'd say that you should separate the review into different categories such as:

Graphics: 7/10 -then explain your reasoning here-

If you do that and add more words and detail to future reviews, you'll make plenty of Viz.

Like gamer said, I think this is a decent review. The main problems I have with it are the categorizing and the length of the review. However, everything seems to be fine. I suggest reading other reviews by famous reviewers on this site such as A user of this or janus. I eagerly await your next review!

cylonbait : It's a good first review. You showed your appreciation of the game by showing strengths and weaknesses.

But like gamer, I would suggest a clearer division of the features to have a better structure. Also, don't be afraid to elaborate! Compare the game you review with others from the console/from other consoles/from the same genre, talk about the backgrounds, the character design...

Keep the good work! You've got potential.
