I played this game for ages is nearly impossible to actually beat.once you start tho its very hard to put down.in this one Mario can 'fly'  for a short period of time if you get the tail wing which gives it a kinda different twist compared to previous version.the fire Mario is present in this one and you can earn various suits like the frogman and some others.rescuing princess peach is still very much part of the game.has many new level's and secrets.such as parts of stages you can walk behind or jump/fly over to get to 'portals' to go to different levels.I believe there is 9 level's in all with many different stages on each level.you have various types of weather in one your in a dessert and the sun chases your from the start of the stage to the end but you can get knock it out of it know how but it doesn't stay 'dead'.the sinking sands are once again back..the ghosts are back as well the ones where you look at them and they stop but you turn your back and they chase you.the flutes are also present in this game like many others..this is amongst the last of the '2d' mario's.requires good hand eye coordination and alot of patients.lava is also back so is bowser the turtles now with 'flying fish' on in the water world stages.there's in the cloud stages as well if you fail to make a jump you fall to your death,and jumping blocks are back as well,boomer rang throwers are also back in this edition.was great on the super Nintendo entertainment system graphics where as good as could be expected for this system.game comes with new sound tracks instead of repeating the sound tracks of the first 2 game.this game has a new addition the Tube levels I like to call them where you have to find your way up stages via various tubes and jumping devices.there's a new addition of a 'prize stage' where you select a chest that gives you a 'random items' there's a match game aswell that will give you coins and power ups and the frog suit.there's an ice level where you slide around everywhere it becomes quite hard to control mario on these stages especially if your trying to move quickly.there's new 'jumping snakes' fireball shooters a couple different boses but i wont spoil that.the floating ships stages are back and harder than ever with more shark firing cannons shooting faster than ever where you have to keep up as the screen is perpetually moving to the right and if you fall behind it will push you and squash you against a wall ouch!.there's more than the usually extra lives green mushrooms out there in places you might not expected such as in levels with tons of breakable boxes at the top of the stage you have to play your cards right to get to the top or have wings.overall a great game i would recommend to anyone who loves the older games

deadric8 : You might want to break down the review into a few paragraphs to make it easier to read because reading 500 words smooshed together isn't fun. Other than that, it's a good start for a length and just needs some work with the formatting, but that's it.

This is probably one of the first games that I ever played and I really loved the Mario Bros games, they were so much fun.

This was also one of the first games I ever played..being born in 88 and all starting my 'gaming career' in 92-93 Nintendo and game boy was all we had didn't get a genesis till about 97 when I got a ps1 because the neighbor was getting sick of it cheating him and he threw it outside lol

Got hit by a couple games as he was tossing em out the door apparently aiming for me but I didn't care cause I knew it was the only way I was getting 1.let me tell ya them old hard cases can hurt I felt those 'pings' for awhile and lost a little blood .

But I got about 20 games 4 controllers and the system all for taking a little abuse...lid wouldn't stay shut but I found a way to trick it into thinking it was shut by putting a paperclip in the slot  at the button which had to be done for the Japanese game I got anyways like dbz using the 'big wave' disc to get out of region games to work.mowed lawns to get my 1st memory card which I believe was memorex total piece of work that thing was lol

deadric8 : Wow, you couldn't have just waited until AFTER he threw all of them out and then went outside to get them? You didn't have to do all that WHILE this person was throwing them, it could have beena lot safer if you just waited until after everything was out.
